I'm an active member on the UK Business Forum site and was advised to post this question up on this site - a site I wasn't aware of until today but I'm very happy to find.

 

I currently run a photograph website and am looking to expand to another project I have been thinking about for the last couple of years. I know what I want but I don't really have the web design skills to know whether it's possible and how much work it would take.

 

Initially the plan was to have it as a stand alone website but seeing how apps have developed over the last couple of years I don't see why it couldn't work as an app as well.

 

So if anyone has any ideas or help they can offer around what would be required I'd be happy to discuss the idea further.

 

Essentially the best way of describing what I want to do is to describe an online game I saw a few years ago to do with Capital cities.

 

You went on the site and then when you clicked on the quiz you went to a page where you had a map of the world. It would then ask you ten questions, one at a time. Something like, where is Rabat? Obviously if you knew Rabat was the capital of Morocco you clicked on Morocco but if you didn't you'd probably click somewhere around Asia/Africa.

 

Over the course of the ten questions you'd be awarded a score based on how many miles you were off clicking the right place.

 

However, the real enjoyment came out of the fact that you went head to head with another player online. Because when you visited the site and clicked on play the quiz, it would match you up with someone else who was waiting to play as well.

 

What I'd like to do is build something similar.

 

I have the format and structure of how I'd like it to run visually but I need to know how possible it is technically to set up and run such a project.
