I've asked around everyone, and I cant find anyone nit picky enough. So I though I would ask some other designers.

I quite like this site! Quite a lot! I like the way it's understated and the copy speaks for itself. I wonder if it's lacking a little something in terms of visuals, but I can't put my finger on it. A little more colour maybe? Dunno.

Did find a typo though:

Your code has a few errors to go through.

 

Nice job!

I think you have the beginnings of something good but it does need a lot more work.

 

Simple things like spelling, validating code etc but also lose the image header. Not good.

Then you need to add more info, a distinguishable portfolio section etc.

I can be nit picky if you want

 

No HTML headings!

- you should have one H1 and H2, H3's as appropriate

 

Poor use of italics

- italicised text is meant to emphasise words, phrases or possible quotes are ok. The examples "While you're waiting..." text is normal text and doesn't really need to be emphasises in my opinion. Ditto for "Claire Brown approached..."

 

No labels for form fields

- also you have to manually removed the text in the input boxes, an accessibility issue

 

Contentwise it is really neat. The well organised content compensates for the lack of visuals. However I would structure the layout into two columns to get an even more visual.

 

The two images at the bottom of the page don't make sense for me. Why are they there?

 

I would make your email address clickable.

Ahhh its squashed. I don't mind that it is one column and that the width is small, but if you are going to have such a lot of white space either side then you are going to have to consider your content spacing very well. Because it is so narrow everything looks squashed in the middle, so you really need to work on things like line space of text, font sizes, spacing between images, and colours, things like that to let your content breath and have its own space.

 

 

I don't like the yellow testimonials page, it just doesn't fit the rest of the style of the site. If you want to break it apart I think you should look at using a grey or something subtle, rather than something that sticks out like a sore thumb.

 

 

Without a footer the page just ends, but in a bad way, there needs to be some form of indication to the user that your page has stopped. I know that by it not scrolling that is a big indication but the page seems incomplete with it just stopping on the last image.

 

 

 

 

Also really consider what bluedreamer is talking about, look at producing something semantically brilliant in code. rather than using things like "snippet_heading" make use of your heading tags, instead of having classes called bold and italic use the html tags <strong> and <em> these are here for a reason. With such a simple design as yours you have so much code, yes having valid code is important, but it is just as important to create semantic code and make use of tags rather than just creating a div or span for every single movement, use what already exists. You would be amazed how much you can cut your code down to. Plus as he has also mentioned the form boxes are very inaccessible and not very usable, if you are going to have text in them make sure the text clears when you click into the box.

 

 

 

 

I know that is a lot of negatives, but what you have is a good building block for a great design, it just needs a bit of fine tuning and attention to little details.
