  1. Hey guys, long time no see. Im looking for some help with cooling my mac down. I wondered if there were any mains powered 230V external computer fans that I could buy, and if so where? Can I convert a 230V fan to mains powered? I'd prefer it be 230 as it will be more powerful, I can put an on-off switch on and it wont take up a USB port. Any ideas where to get one? Thanks, Ben
  2. Im live now

  4. Ok, I have just seen this topic and heres my opinion as an avid F1 fan. I think the concept you have here is great. But the way it is been put across isnt. You should make the design more simple, and explain the project more. Tell people how much it costs and how it will work. Personally, I think the numbers are going to be difficult. You are a little bit unrealistic when you have teams like Honda you think you can buy out. if you bought out another team that would be at the back of the pack, then that would result in you been at the back. Why would fans want to alter things and get involved when they are at the back and will allus finish there? The costings for running an f1 team are phenominal. It is said that Ferrari have a yearly budget of £250 million pounds. Not only that they have: Awesome facilities (which you'd have to build or buy) inc wind tunnels and their own test track Who knows how many trucks and stuff Computers And put together a decent team Then theres fuel, tyres and spares (and you'll need them if you are at the back / have certain drivers) Marketing and stuff It is said that Toyota have a yearly budget of over £350 million, and look at them. Money isnt everything, you have to have a decent team. You have honda up for sale (or votable) on your list. Why would honda sell? They have a huge budget, and look as though they could even secure FA for 2009 /10. Honda will have one of the biggest budgets in F1. I suggest you aim for buying a UK rally champ car, or Fund a Formula Ford, F3 or BTCC car. That would be more fun, and allow you to move up from there. So I suggest you put alot of though into it.
  5. Thanks for feedback so far everyone
  6. Anyone have any feedback for me? http://www.bengribbin.com/ Thanks, Ben

If you dont like the design, then please feel free to tell me.... Thanks very much to Wizely and everyone on those suggestions, I will rework that, thanks matey.

  9. Ok, for those of you who dont know, I am currently writing a coffee table web inspiration guide book thingy. If you are the type who buys web design and dev books, could you please answer the above poll, and also give feedback on the book cover design? Thanks, Ben
  10. crikey how long did you go for mate?
  11. Thanks everyone for a cracking show today, it was great fun. Right off for some grub
  12. Ok we are back again this time @ http://www.bengribbin.com/blog/internet-tv-show/ at 12:30 sorry for short notice
  13. Have tried it, will give it a go for longer length of time. Is there anyway to shut down the mac in say like 2 hours or something?
  14. I've contacted Amazon firstly as they sold me it. Perhaps I can leverage a MBP for all the additional trouble and cost it will create. And I will be disappointed if they dont replace my iMac too For a 24" one no less! I wouldn't mind but its only about 10 weeks old.
  15. My faith has been lost, my imac has a stuck or dead pixel now. I am not happy at all. Has put me right off Apple. I am going to get in touch with amazon (I bought it from them) now to see what they can do. The only thing is I have all my programs and files on this machine now, plus my settings for the network (its networked with a windows PC for file sharing and stuff) and I dont have the knowledge to set that back up so it will cost me alot of cash to have it repaired. grr.... should have just bought a PC, atleast their monitors are replaceable.
  16. Not only is it bad for search engines, its not very user friendly or accessible.
  17. cushyCMS is awesome. IS Zamplit seo friendly? I took alook at the code quickly and saw lots of variables and stuff in URL's. I'd use it if it had a htaccess file so these were rewritten to something like: /contact e.t.c
  18. F1

yes, but ferrari have a totally flawed semi auto pitting system which could have killed or seriously disabled a mechanic. And they fine Felipe Massa? Its really put me off F1, and I used to be an avid fan.

lol sounds very dodgy. When you nights like that, I find lots of beer makes you sleep, failing that grab some horlicks
  20. yes I agree. I shall tell them about the consequences of using such a method.
  21. ok no worries, thanks matey, it depreciates nicely so much appreciated
  22. Thanks matey. Would that still work without javascript?
  23. they prefer for the 'labels' to be inside the menu, to keep a nice clean look I guess.
  24. I have a form here and I am trying to make it more accessible. The client does not want me to use Labels, so they want basically for the forms to have their corresponding value display via value <input name="email" type="text" class="form_box" id="email" value="E-mail Address " /> I know there's a way to do it, but how do I empty the value of the box on click to allow people to use the box without having to delete the value aswell?
  25. I've added 2. Might do another, that was fun.
