August 26, 201312 yr Hi, Based on the fabulous feedback from this site, I've completely redesigned the landing page and about us pages. If you could take a few minutes to review them i would be more than grateful. https://buttonific.com Thanks, Paul
August 26, 201312 yr Looks pretty dated to be honest. Focus more on delivering a message. Also tone down the graphics. The beta sign looks really outdated with its harsh gradient.
August 26, 201312 yr Author Hi cibgraphics, Thanks for the feedback. Good call on the beta ribbon - it was a bit poor. I've upgraded that. Could you be more specific as to what looked dated? Landing page/about us section? On the landing page I have a clear tagline on the logo, examples of the site on the device images and further description on the scrolling message. Any pointers on how to deliver the message better? Cheers
August 26, 201312 yr Honestly... I didn't even pay attention to the menu down below. Those pages have a lot of issues as well (usually with gradients/button styles) On the home page, the biggest issue that I have is that there is nothing that is telling me what it is for. I get that it is an app... but I dont know what the app does and why I should care about it. The animations are also really tacky. If you want people to get beta access... then have the form right there on the page, not on a popup. Don't be afraid to show off your app in a real world setting... even if it is stock photography. Anything is better than a cut out devices on a solid background. You can use something like http://placeit.breezi.com/
August 26, 201312 yr Author Thanks again cibgraphics. Great idea about having the beta form on the page. That link is excellent - gives me some great ideas.
August 30, 201312 yr Author Hi all, With some helpful guidance from cibgraphics - I've made a new stab at the landing pages (just uploaded today). If you could provide me with some feedback - I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Paul Edited August 30, 201312 yr by paulphillips1706
September 1, 201312 yr I would personally strip that all out and start again. The huge scrolls add nothing to the message. The logo is very dated looking. YOu have to ask who you are trying to appeal to and what they are used to seeing wesite wise - and its not that. I'm not even sure what the site is actually encouraging me to join to do. Back to the drawing board.
September 11, 201312 yr I would suggest you to keep the menu in header section rather than in footer.
