Just started HTML, now what?

Hello! I am very new to web design and I started yesterday with HTML5. What should I learn next? Any tips for me?

BTW, here is my site if you want to see that I made with HTML5: www.anzewx.tk

You could start with some JavaScript, which allows you to add event-based interactions to your HTML elements.

A handy site to learn JavaScript is Codecademy.

Once you've got the basics of HTML and JavaScript down, you may consider looking at a server side language such as PHP, which will allow your website to interact with databases and user input.

Hope this helps :)

I'd have to say CSS - that's my favourite part. Try experimenting with the different specs in HTML5 and get used to the variety you can do.

Can't stress Lyndsey's recommendations enough. I've put off JavaScript for a long time and it always catches up. Some of the super heroes will disagree but you can't learn CSS and JavaScript in a day. Keep practicing, get the fundamentals down, then start piecing them together.

Whoops, I totally forgot CSS! :blush1: This is the order I would learn in:

  1. HTML
  2. CSS
  3. JavaScript (and some jQuery if you like!)
  4. PHP
