URL Shortener Software - Suggestions

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking to create a website which will offer a subscription for customers to use a URL Shortening service.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any software that is available that I can just install?

Kind Regards,

Shaun Swales

Just wondering, why would someone want to subscribe to use your URL shortener when there are loooooads of free ones out there?

It's just something I would like to try and see how it will go ... In any area you go into there is normally a FREE and PAID version and I'm just going to see if it will gain any traction as you don't know for sure until you try :)

If you search on Google with URL shortner, then you will get so many free websites for that. I prefer to use bitly.com.

You can take help form the bitly , make a qucik view and try to find out some useful resources. Otherwise Google it , you will found some information regarding softwares.

I agree with the others, I would strongly advise against building a website solely for the purpose of selling url shortening services.

As most have stated, there are so many free ones out there it would not be a good business venture, in fact it would be an incredible waste of your time.

If you are offering this subscription for free however and are trying to set yourself apart from other sites then perhaps its worth still doing, but even then only maybe.

Before starting any project you have to ask yourself, how your project gonna create some sort of value for the user.
If it doesn't create any value, for user, project will die sooner or later. That's golden rule.

In ur case, you can't beat competitors as your service is not better than others, and it's paid as well.
