Making a logo to put as the title of my website (at the top) and need some suggestions. What ways could I go about making it that incorporate:

 

Name (Iron Hammer Gaming, could also add A Multi Gaming Community in there)

A Hammer symbol

Not so plain text

and that goes along with this background(remember it will have to be at the top of that background as well):

You're better to read up, have a go yourself then ask for opinions and suggestions on it. Asking how to go about it from the start is not the best way to learn. Jump right in and have a go.

This is what I have so far, need some suggestions on what to do to it next or if I should just leave it be.

Of course there will be text to the left of the symbol but I can manage that myself but will probably give it the same "style" as the symbol.

Problem with aloof the above is they're all cliche.

 

Try to think it of the box. What do hammers do? What do they do to games? Who uses hammers? What else is called a hammer? Etc.

Why not use the circle logo as the o of iron?

 

Make the circle a bit larger than the text as well...

 

Would do it but on iPad.

Might add some small changes but overall I am happy with it.

Even though you got the white drop shadow I wouldn't suggest the dark on dark. Your menu items are white on black for a reason. I'd either inverse your BG or your logo(s).
