February 22, 201214 yr Hi guys, my friend wants an app for his music website. He just wants it to have his music, photos, and a link to his website. A few questions i have are: 1. Does the app have the music built into it, or should it stream from the web? (obvious 3g issues and allowances etc) 2. Same with pictures, should they be hard coded into the app, or feed from the web? 3. Whats a ball park figure for something like this. 4. Are they easily updatable (aka could somebody with web design experience update it) Thats all for now I guess. Thanks in advance
February 22, 201214 yr I'm currently building a responsive website for all mobile devices, so I suggest you do it as a website rather than an application, makes more sense.

Are they easily updatable (aka could somebody with web design experience update it) 1 & 2 : This is certainly technically possible with both native and mobile web apps, but I couldn't explain how to do this, so I'll leave it to someone with the appropriate skillset. 3 : I doubt you'll get a quote without providing more information. Do you want to target a specific device? Multiple devices? Native apps require skill in the appropriate programming language, so that will increase your cost a bit. 4 : If you do a mobile web app you can certainly apply web design knowledge to updating it (though you'd still need some programming skill to make any functionality changes), but native apps are going to require programming skill to change anything. You really need to write the scope of this app down on paper. What does it need to do? What devices do you want to target? What does it need to look like? If you bring detailed answers to these questions to a designer/developer you might get a quote (but they'll probably require more info).
February 22, 201214 yr The figures I've always heard bandied around are usually between £3-8k mark. Just a very rough guestimate though.
February 22, 201214 yr call me a cynic but I can't imagine for one moment Apple allowing an app that streams music unless they take their cut?
February 22, 201214 yr call me a cynic but I can't imagine for one moment Apple allowing an app that streams music unless they take their cut? Aye, from what this dude's said so far it sounds like a responsive web app is going to make the most sense.
