Not necessarily bad, just as I said, past it's sell by date, although it's still a great tool for creating Flash games, or trying to accomplish technical animations that can't be accomplished with jQuery.

Why don't you Google it for starters? This is your school work, so why should we give you the information required? For starters, the font is made by "Manfred Klein" if I'm not mistaken.

Accessibility is key, having Flash elements on a page requires the user to download a plugin. Search Engines also struggle to crawl Flash. Flash is dying out, mobile phones are dropping Flash support altogether, and Adobe know it's going to end. Canvas is a good to learn, I'm actually having a go at that now. If your looking to learn more about various things, just search Google, it's there for a reason. I'd say stick with the design you have so far. Then when you have a higher knowledge, you can reflect back. If you want some good books to read, I suggest you search some of Jeffrey Zeldman's collection, a brilliant author.

Hates a strong word that I wouldn't use to describe my thoughts about Flash, I just feel it's past it's sell by date, and we have newer technologies that accomplish the effects that Flash provided.

For a first website, it's not that bad, although I'm not a fan of the flash elements you have going on there, the carousel could be done with jQuery rather than flash. Add more content, then we'll see. I don't think Pasha4ur fully understands the concept of giving feedback to other members...

I have to disagree with you Pasha4ur, you haven't stated the reasons why they need to be changed, so in my mind, you haven't really produced any good constructive criticism at all. I love the entire design, perhaps change the search placeholder text colour to a more dimmer colour, maybe grey.

Why are you putting two Adsense ads together? I think the Adsense control panel allows you to edit the size of the displaying ad too.

The only way to stop it is if you specify a width on each li element. Either that or change the rollover effect to a colour change instead of a weight change...
