Hi Everyone,

new to the site, I've been getting into web design and am wanting to take it to the next level, doing more freelance work with a view to making it my full time occupation. So have been trawling through the message boards, its an amazing resource for me so thanks for that.

I've designed a couple of sites, the first of which was a project a few of my mates created:

www.pointlessview.co.uk

And the second is a Holiday cottage for a friend (this was actually my first project):

www.norburyhouselincoln.co.uk

I am in the process of revamping this one, (the banner got changed because the client had a different one made and now the colours dont quite fit) and I have been commissioned to do some SEO on it.

Any advice for anyone getting into web design? my sole aim at the moment is building up my portfolio and creating my website to showcase what I have done and am able to do. Is there anything else in particular I should concentrate on?

Cheers

Hello, Russel, and welcome to WDF!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am currently nowhere near the presentation skills you have, had a look at your sites and both looked professional (to me anyway!!). Will be very interested to hear how your career develops.

Look forward to hearing from you around the forums!
