October 20, 201015 yr I am part of the team rebuilding vbgov.com. This is my first page of my first round of storyboards. Am I going in the right direction? Be painfully honest! http://scottreeddesign.com/vbwork/home.html
October 20, 201015 yr It looks fantastic. The only thing I'm not to fond of is the navigation bar, the rest of the site looks great it flows very well and the colours compliment each other but the nav just seems to shout at me. I'm not sure why, it could be the font size and the dark blue, it just really sticks out. A lighter blue, smaller font maybe?
October 20, 201015 yr I think it looks really good. As a newbie to the 'top end' of design, can I ask what program you used to design this draft, was it Photoshop or similar, and also throwing this out to the rest of the forum how long to you set aside to do a draft like this?
October 22, 201015 yr Great looking, but i don't really like the logo in the header, but i don't know if your using the one they already have.
October 22, 201015 yr Its a great design, but toomuch of that font can get annoying to look at. Try Calibri or Arial in some area's, but keep the size small like 12px.
October 22, 201015 yr Very nice design. What would people say is better to use out of Photoshop and Fireworks?
October 22, 201015 yr Author Fireworks is my favorite for doing web graphics and prototypes. It is what I used here.
October 22, 201015 yr I can't live without Illustrator & Photoshop, but when you must export the images and want a really lower kb image you will need fireworks.
October 22, 201015 yr I can't live without Illustrator & Photoshop, but when you must export the images and want a really lower kb image you will need fireworks. Really, i didnt know this. So if you export images in fireworks is it better compression?
October 22, 201015 yr Author Really, i didnt know this. So if you export images in fireworks is it better compression? Fireworks' is made for producing graphics for the web. Its the brother of Dreamweaver from way back in the Macromedia days. I can't live without it.

October 22, 201015 yr You do know photoshop has "Save for Web", although I don't use fireworks, I am sure that when Adobe name a feature like that, the output will be similar to fireworks
