  1. If anyone else has experience with this, let me know!
  2. I recently discovered I could have Gmail run my email while still using my custom domain. It's free and way better than Go Daddy's email and calendar solution. I am VERY happy. Check it out. http://google.com/a
  3. Jeez... 76 sites? Wow. What plan do you have now? Is it 4GH? Thanks!
  4. I forgot that this is a UK forum. I wonder if GoDaddy hosting for the UK is any different. Obviously my experiences with them have been much different. My site hosted on Ultimate 4GH at $9.99 a month: http://scottreeddesign.com
  5. I went with the upgraded account on the new 4GH system. Moving my site from the old hosting to the new hosting was relatively painless. I called support because it appeared my domain wasn't resolving correctly. They were super helpful and I am good to go. The new site is remarkably faster! Thanks Go Daddy.
  6. I learned the GoDaddy account system. I actually like their hosting control panel. Up until this 4GH issue and my current latency issues I have been very satisfied. I have the cheapest shared Linux plan and have been getting a lot more traffic to the multiple sites so I think I just need to step up the plan.
  7. What is your problem with (gd). Media Temple seems over rated and the cool kids choice not necessarily the better provider.
  8. Of course, after I wrote this my sites have been quite sluggish. GoDaddy now has something called 4gh for their shared hosting but my data center was too old to upgrade. To get the new 4gh hosting I would have to set up a new account. If I am having to start all over I might as well do my due diligence and look for alternatives. Looking for a new hosting provider.
  9. I don't use any frameworks. The beauty of PHP is that you don't need them. If an application I am building needs additional classes then I use exactly what I need. Does this make sense?
  10. I just created a plugin using the new support for custom post types. Check it out: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/content-types-wordpress-plugin/ I am using it on my own site: http://scottreeddesign.com/
  11. The plugin is finally up and running on the WordPress site: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/content-types-wordpress-plugin/ Check it out!
  12. I have done only jQuery and WordPress plugins.
  13. Just released my first WordPress plugin. It's a custom content type plugin which is a lot simpler than the other plugins out there; but it is a lot more powerful. Check it out: http://scottreeddesign.com/project/content-types-wordpress-plugin Try it out. Let me know what you think.
  14. Try Ubuntu Desktop as a VB Guest to get used to the Linux way. Then once you feel comfortable enough use Ubuntu Server. I love a pure LAMP environment. XAMPP still wasn't a pure LAMP environment and was a resource hog. I prefer to keep the web server separate from my host machine.
