February 3, 200818 yr Looks nice nathan, the only thing I noticed was the lack of heading tags in your content - "Web developer Portfolio" and "Newest website"
February 3, 200818 yr Very nice, Nathan. I much prefer this to your old one. The colours are great and everything pulls together nicely. I'm not a huge fan of white text on a black background but this is a good execution of it, at least.

February 5, 200818 yr Author yes, where is the blog haha...i didn't put a blog in there lol... But yeah the nav isn't working as I was just wanting you guys opinion before I coded the rest also I aim to have it coded in PHP to save me time uploading new content etc.
February 19, 200818 yr Nice design Nathan! You seem to know what your doing The only thing i would change as to do with the links you have to your other sites. In terms of usuability an external link should throw the user to another page by opening a new window and not on the same one making the user leave your site. You want the visitor to remaing in your site as long as possible, so don't make him leave And also, for the sake of best practice, normaly an external link as to be marked with a especial symbol and you can find the standard symbol here: http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8509/wi...rnallink9hj.png My 2 cents

But probably for developer it will do... BTW I am sitting next to two lovely windows...

Try not to look at everything so negatively; if you think something is bad, then say so, but also suggest what could be done to make it better. Don't just slag someone's design off as "dead", and accuse everyone else of joking about it. A little sensitivity will get you far in life Rob
March 5, 200818 yr Author its amazing how many people don't actually read, I said the links are dead due to the site being under construction. as for the typo's I have noticed a few and have retyped it all, on the version I am developing. I didn't ask for people to point out the dead links(btw there not dead they just link to the index page) I asked for critical feedback on the design as I am not a designer, Im a developer. Thanks to the people that did help though.
March 7, 200818 yr The site sorta looks ok in that it has a "finished" kind of look, but I don't see much in the way of concept there. The smoke is quite eyecatching, but doesn't really say anything in particular to me - it seems to have been added for the sake of it rather than any design-led reason. You also have some grunge brushes in the same colour next to it, which I don't think work. Because they're in the same green colour, it looks like they're part of the same object, but that makes the contrast in style look wrong - the brushes are quite rough, the smoke has a smooth/blended look. On a technical level, there's nothing really wrong with it (except some empty tags when I looked at it, but I figure it might be unfinished). SEO-wise, you could do more with it (h1, alt tags..), but that's relatively easy. To me, the design is the bit that needs the most work. It looks better than a lot of other sites I've seen, but it doesn't really stand out right now. That may or may not be a priority.. I guess it depends on the type of work you'd be looking to get into. If it's development and backend programmy type stuff that you want to do, design probably isn't a priority, but if you're looking to get into the creative side of design, I'd definitely work on the concept.
