Logo Advice

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a friend who is wanting a logo for his business and he is wanting advice of a professional.

Bascically he's name is John Atkinson Freelance.

Does anyone have any ideas of a good logo?

Thanks :)

What service does he provide? What image is he trying to project? Does he have a tagline he wants to incorporate? Is he trying to build a brand upon this Logo? Colour Scheme?

In my opinion, it is best to start with a mind map around your central subject (e.g. Developer, Web Designer, Accountant), with new ideas spinning off the central idea.

This will help you generate ideas/images/concepts which you can try and apply to your logo design.

Keep the logo simple yet smart and relevant to the clients work and you'll be on the right track! :)

I can see a good one just by combining the initials JAF.

I would play around with those first and then maybe follow it with his full title :)

I would suggest asking him to give you 3 example of logos he likes, doesn't have to be industry related, and have a look at what his competitors are doing too. We do this for all clients and gives us great result. Have a look at www.keepittrim.com

I hope he's not a freelance logo designer...
