Looking for Backlinks

Featured Replies

Hi All

Currently conducting a link building campaign for my personal portfolio website. Aside from clients, who usually want to buy their way out of not having a 'designed by' link, I am pretty all out of luck. I'm looking for individuals in the same/a similar field to myself, web design.

PM me if you're interested in linking :)

Cheers

Not reallllyy the best place to ask, no offence. Just that people here are generally offering the same thing as you :(

Not so, Backlinks in the same subject are relevant and worthwhile, If you are offering the same services as me but in a different geo area.

Id thought the beauty of web design/SEO etc. is bar face to face meetings you can do it from anywhere.

Yes , but its much easier to rank page 1 for "web design (YOUR CITY)" than "Web Design" ,

Try it!

Thats why many webdesigners will link exchange with a pr1 web designer based at the other end of the country

And besides, Face-to-Face meetings often close deals !

Reciprocal linking helps somewhat but essentially each link cancels each other out and doesn't attribute page rank. One way links are the best you can get.

Try posting on do-follow web design blogs, forums and using social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Squidoo and Hubpages.

Oh certainly, I would find it hard to work closely with clients if I hadn't met them. But I could easily travel for work. :)

I was playing Devils advocate somewhat, for SEO reasons, sure aim your keywords locally - but reciprocal links aren't as strong, as Website Design Liverpool says.

Why not take some advice from Wikipedia:

"Today submission of websites to web directories is considered as a common SEO (search engine optimization) technique to get vital back-links for the submitted web site." - Wikipedia

If only there were directories that was relevant to web design :)

To be honest, a small link in the footer or on a sub-page will probably not be clicked by a visitor. Chances are the visitor is on your site because they're in your region. It would be quite beneficial to do this but your current PR is 1/10. I'd only bother with sites equal to, or greater than 3.

You should optimise the site using other methods before link farming. Also, if you're target is South-West England, you may want to mention it a bit more on your own site - letalone others.

Build one way links naturally by using a blog and sites like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. Get out there and answer and helps solve peoples problems for free and you will pretty soon earn lots of nice healthy backlinks.

Hello!

Link building strategy is something, which always take time. However, you can develop strategies, which can get the search engine ranking you need. Here is what I would do:

1. 10 comments per day on related blogs - use Comment Sniper (it is a great free tool to help you find blogs in your niche).

2. 5 Articles per week - use SubmitYourArticles.com with its Article Leverage system. The best article distribution system on the web.

3. 10 Comments on forums per day

4. Create WordPress blog for your website and make at least 14 posts per week. Create it with sub domain - blog.yourdomain.com.

Take this strategy for 8 weeks and you will have fantastic results.

Regards,

HItune

I haven't seen anyone mention posting your site(s) to Digg or Stumbleupon? Digg has gotten me higher ranked in the past and I find it a good tool.
