Out of 12 million results it will be very difficult to do IMO. You could try increasing the key word density for your name by speaking about yourself in the third person (using your name where you can) That's what I've done on my personal site (29th out of 4.2 million) so you have more than double the amount of results for your name. Other than that why not consider using your name 'city' / 'county' with webdesign before. It would make it a lot easier to get good rankings without any back links whatsoever. The below I am not 100% on but it could help if what I've been told is correct. Name pages such as contact me to yourname.html and include your name in the page name for other pages too. <meta name="geo.region" content="GB-Sussex" /> ? I don't know if this will help but it could be added. I can't see a description meta tag on two pages at least that I have visited. This is crucial to get good rankings, try and make the description upto 200 chars and make (at least the first half of it) standard English - usually text from the page in question that is nearest the top relavant to you and what you are about. Sign upto Digg if you haven't done so already and submit it. I am sure you will get a Digg listing on the first page but how long it will stay there is another matter, it's worth a shot.

I'm in the process of setting up a company repairing computers and installing and fixing broadband problems in the southwest of England. If I write a lot about how to troubleshoot broadband problems and fix them I wouldn't get any business if you see what I mean. The results for repair broadband problems should be fairly similar as repair is quite dense throughout my site. Thanks very much

I haven't seen anyone mention posting your site(s) to Digg or Stumbleupon? Digg has gotten me higher ranked in the past and I find it a good tool.

Hi there, I have gotten fairly decent results so far with my basic SEO knowledge but want to increase my rankings further. I am middle on the first page and below out of 5 million results for 'fix broadband problems' on google and if I add the counties I cover or towns I am top for most. For 'fix broadband problems bristol' I am 1st, 2nd, 3rd and then a domain that isn't mine then other of my pages below that 2 or 3 times. Is it bad having many domains for the same site? The reason for this is my hosting company only allows me to park one domain with the package I'm on and I park all domains but one in the USA for free. Does the order of words in the description matter much? I use SEO Meta Tag Analyzer and my pages are 100% for all or very close. I do not have any back links that I know of other than links from facebook so I doubt they really count for much as they cannot be accessed from anybody that isn't on my freinds list. Thanks very much guys for your help. I have now fixed it by removing the code from every page..but now the hidden text doesn't appear. I used to have images and text under the main text with more information but I removed it, or at least thought I had! it still was lurking there somewhere - me not knowing much about web design whatsoever had no idea how to sort it. While I'm here do you have any tips for making the site look better and encourage people to browse through it for longer? I have SEO knowledge and google rankings isn't an issue as far as I'm aware. Hi there, I have a website that I have created using a template I downloaded based around CSS and html. I have an issue on all pages where by the letter 'A' appears, but in dreamweaver cs4 design view I cannot locate it. I cannot work out why it will not disappear. I have tried lowing the Z Index to -1 to no avail http://www.holsworthycomputing.com It seems to appear on all page and was wondering if anyone can look through the source code and tell me what I need to remove.
