i am developing a new site and changed the design as well but encountered a space issue in IE7. I've tested it in FF3, Ie8, chrome, opera, safari and there is no issue. I wouldn't have noticed that my site was hacked if Google didn't sent me an email letting me know that he found some hidden keywords in my pages and it breaks their rules and some pages were taken of the index. I took a look at my FTP and in that particular domain indeed there were some extra files like this: 1. a folder named .xdata which contained at least 300 html files with weird names like: 790-sports-animal.com.html; 2010-heisman-odds.html; agua-bella.html and so on. I also changed the .xdata folder permissions to 444 but it still changes itself to 777. I couldn't find those keywords hidden in my pages at all. Anyone has any clue? Thanks

For the last 2-3 days i've been searching the web, reading reviews, testing things out in order to find a good VOIP service. what i basically need is a PC 2 Phone call system. i would also like to by with paypal and to pay for what i talk and not monthly, yearly and so on...i looked at skype, signed up but on the payment page i have only moneybookers and money transfer...i don't know where the other payment methods gone. i also tried another company but have to wait 24 hours for activation..very strange..well i hope you give me a few choices..thanks!

i will agree with mark too...a steady pay check can be the best thing..but then again...paying 30% or more taxes out of that check..seems a bit tough...there are pros and nos too..you might want to test the road for a while...i tested it for about 4 years and can't complain..as for the social interaction..you can sit at your desk at work and don't talk to anybody..your boss will not throw a stripper party every day..right?..but you as a freelancer can go out all nights long

it's not a tough job when you enjoy it..but of course since people are different and have different thoughts you might found some clients a little too..let me say it right..IDIOTS..some of them will not listen to your thought as a designer..and then you have to convince them what's right and what's wrong..also since we all have different tastes you have to convince them about colors, what goes and what doesn't and so on...others may want you to do other things that are not in the job description for the same money...and so on....overall i learned that money is not everything when it comes to design..it's better to lower the prices and have that client as a regular one than to take the money for the job and goodbye. but you can also get good clients and everything to run smoothly...i did a 4 day shopping cart and the client was more than pleased for 900$..but also did a 2 months site (which was supposed to be finished within 1 week) because of the client color stupidity..like hmm..the blue is not how i like, or the font is too small or too big...of course after a mockup was created and we agreed upon it. the bad thing about freelancing is that there are a lot of people who work (or at least claim they work) for less money..anyway from my point of view it's better to stay home, do your own schedule and get the money instead of going daily to the same office and have your boss over your head with deadlines and God knows what

site is really great but...i have to critique something right ...anyway..way too much GREEN..or shades of green the green links are very eye hurting ..where is green and black you can also add orange and blue too..again darker shades since the background on some pages is white look here for ex http://www.ph-creative.com/ourservices/default.phuse the right column where all the links are...doesn't that hurt your eyes?.. or at least for some titles add #333333 or gray colors

always pay by paypal if you contact the provider directly (without any freelancer site which offers a dispute option) and if you don't get what you paid for open a dispute, claim you did not get what you paid for and since Paypal does not offer seller protection for intangible goods (like services) you get your money back within 1-2 weeks or so. other than that you can't do a thing..especially if it's from outside your country

in FF3 and IE7 looks normal now...anyway it's no use to use the absolute positioning for that...just make 1 main div with the margin:0 auto; value and then 2 more inside this...1 for the logo with the float:left property and of course width and height and another one where the nav will go with the float:right and of course the same width and height..hope you understand something

you should define the site width first...the height is not so important because there can be elements that will expand and not look good.. now here are some tips for a centered layout in any browser. this goes in your css style body{ padding:0; margin:0; } #main{ width:934px; margin:0 auto; } change that width with the one you want in your html under body add <div id="main"> and close it before the </body> tag
