Obtaining Domain Contact Details
Hi guys, Haven’t posted for a while here – the site looks great with the new layout... I am currently designing and hosting a new website for a local client for a student halls accommodation. The premises are now under new management after the old owner left it in a very poor state. This is no longer the case and has been fully refurbished and undertaken many alterations. The problem I have is that there is currently a website (hosted in USA) created by a student who stayed at this accommodation a few years back which slates the place and shows images and comments of how poor it was before the refurbishment. This site is now sometimes ranking above the new one. This gives a very bad image of the accommodation. I have tried contacting their host, "BlueHost" which is American from what I gather, even though the premises are in the UK. The domain name has privacy protection provided by BlueHost and thus I am stuck. They claim that it is confidential and unless I am the account owner, I cannot speak to them!! Is there any way I can contact the owner of this site? Are registrars not required by law to provide the real contact details of the owner? I would like to get this site shut down, or at least contact the owner and show them how it has improved. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks very much

I get the same when I'm developing sites, so don't worry too much. It's up here btw - Dorset, England.

My New Blog
Love the background image. I agree with the others' comments about the edges. Is the white maybe a bit strong on the black? Maybe it's just me, so don't worry.. maybe a slightly light grey colour? Overall, good job, I like it

SPAM ON HERE
I got one the other day as well from her. I thought it was real for a moment... only a short moment though as why would someone send you that type of message on a web designer forum LOL I'm glad to hear that she's banned now though

A good easy CMS like blogger
I agree - there shouldn't be that many pages to edit. You will probably only need to edit the theme files which there arn't many. You may want to add some plugins, but that's about it generally.

Google or bidvertiser?
Can't say I've used Bidvertiser before. I'd stick with Google (Adsense) if I were you...

A little advice on my new site
I really like it. Great start there, it has a nice fresh feel. I'm not too sure what to say about the RSS thingy as I'm not overly keen with it. Just have a play around... maybe try it without the cup and just have the RSS logo??

What fonts usually been use ?
As long as you steer clear of Times New Roman and Comic Sans and the like, you will be ok. Try to use something like Verdana or Arial... If you want a Times New Roman feel, try maybe using a font like Georgia. These are just my ideas/opinion, I'm not saying that I'm correct. Do what you feel

Feedback please
The images down the side don't look too bad to me. I would try maybe changing the shade of green for the header bar - just keep experimenting and playing around with different looks and feels. You'll soon know when it looks better and you're happy with it. Best of luck, Dan.

What Camera do you have
I have a Nikon D40 and an older film pentax. Love them both

Why doesn't my web site work properly in inet explorer?
Looks fine to me... Except when viewing on a large screen the background starts to tile.. but I take it that's not the issue.
