I truly recommend prestashop. It's easy to edit the language files and the community forum is pretty alive with discussions and expert advice, so no worries if you'll have some issues with the implementation to bilingual website. Just wonder why they don't have some chat for customers so they can immediately talk with retailers. Magento is a great choice too, but as you mentioned it's not the easiest solution. Now you can easily integrate this with the Slack, so you get instant notifications, previews of changes, and you can click through to comment—speeding up team design review. I'm not sure they're planning to add some live chat plug-ins (like all those e-commerce chat web-apps), but if yes this'll be perfect.
