This site really needs some work if it is going to appeal to its target market. The idea behind the site itself could work but the design needs to targeted towards those who classify themselves as the Mensa group. Ditch the logo and childish characters, and get rid of the blue, orange combo and all the clutter on the page. Keep it simple and try to build a classy looking simple site. Look at the competition and research which sites work well and are popular and base your new design on the feedback.

Try some whisky on the gum, or vodka is meant to help deaden the pain also. , hope it helps!

Hi, please don't attempt to use flash for a navigation bar. If you do your site will be out of date and totally useless on apple devices. Look at HTML and CSS for styling, if you can code in flash am sure the learning curve will not be steep. I love using flash for animation but accept its future is in doubt and as a web designer there is nothing more important than keeping up to date with current trends. The web changes so fast, so best listen to advice from those who know the best current practices.

The site is certainly heading in the right direction, it is looking far more modern. Am not sure about the blue outline round the main banner though - maybe you could try removing it to see how it looks? Also not sure if too keen on the orange bullet points, maybe look better without them, or in a less obvious colour? Font choice is now much better now its sans-serif, but perhaps you could look at google webfonts for some more ideas. just a few suggestions..

Really liking this site. Very clean, fresh and modern. Avoids being fussy or overcomplicated. Logo works well and clever that you have picked up the colour scheme used in logo throughout the site to give a coherent look and feel. CSS working on blog for me now, so presume you have fixed now. Might be nice to have a photo of you on the "about" page to add more personal element. .And yes, as notbanksy says, I would spend some time working on the copy to let clients know more what you could do for them, and why they should specifically work with you.

This site is great, really artistic and different. Love the washing line and peg detail, and the fonts used. Type of site I hope to achieve myself with more practice! I would suggest adding small touches of the turquoise elsewhere to brighten site, and also to think more about the contrast of font colour and background, as not too easy to read. But overall, well done on a fab portfolio

I really like the clean look and feel of the site. It feels fresh and modern. I like the attention to detail in certain aspects, such as the navigation icons which change colour upon rollover. Also like the handwritten text , though not so sure about the red colour choice. . Also the "Design the Beautiful, Build the Impossible" text works fine upon my laptop, but I could not read it correctly upon my ipad. The "impossible" does not appear. I would look into resizing or adapting for other devices if you wish a responsive site, But overall, I think a very good start with lots of fun ideas

The choice of image really depends on the target market you are hoping to appeal to. The first image looks like it would appeal to real fitness fanatics, and could be quite off-putting for those who are just hoping to start fitness training! I think the third image works best as it seems most approachable and friendly, but all really depends upon the branding you hope to achieve for your company.

Hi there, I'm Wendy and I am an aspiring web designer from Glasgow in bonny Scotland. I have just completed a 3 yr degree in multimedia so I have a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and some server side stuff. Particularly enjoy the design side of things and not so hot at the coding as yet, so hoping to improve there.. Really looking forward to teaching myself lots more about web design and development and building up a portfolio over the coming year.
