  1. I am a themeforest newbie, doing only small client work and mainly being a hobbyist. I recently decided to give TF a try, but I have no idea of the requirements/expectations. I want to make wordpress and ecommerce themes. What should I include? What are the requirements on code quality? How customizable should it be? Are wordpress plug ins also necessary? Hows the community like? I basically want to learn the ropes.
  2. Any potential problems look out for? What are buyers generally looking for in a theme? What should you include with your theme (documentation and such)? Any other advice would also be greatly appreciated.
  3. I am 14, and going into my second year of high school. Last year, I started freelancing at the end of the school year, so I didn't really have to balance school and freelancing. I am considering ditching client work, and only making themes until next summer. Is the theme business lucrative? Did anyone else freelance while in high school? Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. did you make sure that the font files were in your fonts folder, or whatever folder you are referring to?
  5. I know the ins and outs of photoshop, but my designs still look like crap. Anyone know of any places on the web (free or paid) where I can learn about the principals of graphic design? And don't say lynda.com because I have a subscription and they barely have anything of this subject.
  6. I am a great programmer, but have the worst design skills. Is an eye for design something that you are born with, or is it something that you can learn and develop?
  7. I am a developer, who knows close to nothing about design, so please bear with me. As I read books about design, I keep getting stuck at the idea of a grid system such as 960gs. I completely understand designing within a width of 960px, but I don't understand what the red columns are for, or how this helps with the layout of a site. As a side note, I don't really see the benefit of the class library, as it just seems to increase load time for basic styles.
