  1. Hi fisicx, yeah the person who designed the font for me has submitted to a free service but as of yet no word back yet, I think it's been about 2 weeks now.
  2. Hey folks, This is something I have completely no knowledge on, the situation is that I have got a font designed in Illustrator that I would like to convert to a typeable system font. where do I start? can anyone recommend someone who can do this as a service? Thanks Scott
  3. Hey folks Ive purchased a couple of domain names The story is That someone is taking over a wordpress website and they are wanting there domain names to point to that site with there names. for example its changing from the old name with Petespetshop to Charlespetshop or chicspetshop and editing contact information. What would be the best practice to redirect new domain names to a current website, should i use URL Forwading 301 redirect The hosting is with BT's web hosting and they say to use a external name that have to use A records Thanks
  4. Here is some of my faves I have took. This was using my light tent, went outside on a sunny day https://www.dropbox.com/s/n12tc8csjokssc1/2013-05-25%2016.33.52.jpg And my photographer friend let me in his studio one day I'm sure he said low key lighting. https://www.dropbox.com/s/i451xsipfqn3bgc/2013-04-29%2022.20.16.jpg And my daughter I like using trees as a background. https://www.dropbox.com/s/48151n37p2n554h/2013-06-08%2015.36.09.jpg And at one point when visiting my Grans grave Off all places I took this lol. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5o9ma7dv5g7xg07/2013-05-14%2012.20.46.jpg
  5. Just a few months not practiced as much as I would like, I am a complete beginner out of every 10 pictures there is a decent one I watch videos on Lynda and can play with the camera settings of auto and hopefully more time will bring more knowledge, I know a guy who was getting up at 6am and doing a lot of preparation to take a photo and his best photo was one he took at random. I made myself a diy light tent i bought some artist canvas panels and made a box out of them about 20 x 16 inches and only paid something like £10 at most, it works and gives even light, and Photoshop is good for telling you in the information what settings you have used If your camera doesn't tell you which is good for keeping track of what aperture or shutter speed etc you used. Me and my daughter went to cheap toy store as well, she has a creative streak and one of our projects was make up a mock website For the toys we bought, only 8 but she likes to get involved and it keeps her creative mind going. People are interesting, and snapping them in every day motion is good, i am a fan of snapping when they are living life normal, getting them in for a portrait shot to me it feels a tad fake and set up. what I find amazing about photography is that it grounds you To earth it slows you down to look and appreciate things in life, to easy to walk past something but photography when lining up a shot You look at things in a different light
  6. I picked up my first ever slr camera a few months ago, I picked mine by going on pc world website and out of the cameras I went on Amazon And picked the one with the best reviews lol probably a bit of a unorthodox way but its a camera that has got me started on my photography adventure and its hard picking your first one. No matter what camera you pick there is always a bigger dog that is better,so read reviews and get plenty of advice which I am sure wont be to far behind and a budget you are happy with, any photographer friends that may let you borrow their camera to try? I want to learn about food photography and stock photography myself, I love the idea of working with a good photo and adding another niche to go into my portfolio at some point. My little one has started to take an interest and if she sees a nice spot with flowers I will get dragged there and she loves to take control of the camera. It is a Nikon D3100 I have, and learning very slowly. best of luck Scott

Just got fibre broadband recently, This is me connecting via wifi and up in a corner of my room. But before that was lucky to get download speed of 1.5mb and upload was half of that. At times my Samsung Galaxy 3G hanging out my window was a better connection
  8. Hi guys forgot about this thread thank you for the feedback I decided to go with the black and white theme, but I have changed it around a little bit.I was in the situation were I wanted to use both so I may use the nature theme for my own purposes, the reason I chose the black and white as the group is mainly older generation where the contrast is better on black and white and it will give them a better user experience, but I will use the nature theme for myself, and i will think over the suggestions aswell.
  9. Did a bit of snooping and seen that they don't support redirects on starter hosting package, its a website i have been asked to maintain just wish i got to pick the hosting company at the time no mysql either.
  10. Hi, In the A record i have triple checked the ip address i have put in and it is the same ip as the new hosts and also next to it the sub domain name that is the only 2 entrys i have typed and from a article that i read it is all you had to do. thanks for the suggestion of ping.I did the ping and it is still traced back to Pixel internet which i have now found out is sister company of heart. hmmm so contacting them next is what i should do.
  11. Ok i have a name and hosting account already through pixel internet, i have created a second name in DNS Management in A records,The second domain is going to be hosted through . I have changed the DNS management page on the first hosting company Pixel for this sub domain name and i added the ip address of this hosting company but still is not pointing yet have i missed something? It has been a few days and also trying on multiple browsers and clearing history :s

  15. Hello, been learning myself a little Photoshop and i am working on a website theme for a community crafts group i attend. I have made two rough drafts, it has my colors i want to use and the layout, i was just wondering what theme is the better of the two? Before i do a lot more to them. These are still the rough drafts still plan to add that little bit extra finesse/finishing touches on to my pages, but need to know what is the most popular to work on. So Nature walk? or black and white? And thanks in advance for any input

At the moment i have a desktop with 1 TB Hard drive just regular and 8 gig of memory Kingston 1066 mhz and a AMD A6 3500 processor on a ASUS F1A55- MLE motherboard, operating system Windows 7 64 bit, for my needs at present its fine, there is room for upgrade like SSD drive and a quad core processor currently 3 or more memory up to 32 gig, For my home needs. For out and about, I don't have a laptop, so i thought to myself "Ok i could maybe get a Mac" i'm not in a great rush, but when i buy i want bang for buck and have a friend who could get me a discount of nearly £200.I have always used Windows so fancy a change or challenge. My main programs is Sublime text 2, Photoshop ,Illustrator, Blender and also i am learning myself photography and web design not much of a gamer. You know your stuff on Macs, and the more i read the more i am sold.
