Online Tea Shop website needs critiquing!
HI there, The site looks a little to much like a template to me. The background and colours and images aren't really tea related so its hard to be sure instantly what the site is aimed at. In fact with the single line tea-quote makes the site look like a tea trivia fan site or something. I'd ditch that in favour of some SEO friendly description of your business and who you guys are. I'd remove the about us, meet the team, my account and home links from the navbar and replace them all with each category name, black-teas, flower teas etc... Your front page should tell me everything i'm likely to want to know about what this website is about and if I want more info like meet the team I'd go look in the footer or header for some utility nav links. And your category links will help scream what the site sells and are a much more direct way for customers to find what they are looking for. The shopping cart icon and search box and the clip board icon aren't really to my taste. It all looks too childish, like a childs toy, big icons! Big search box! The redeeming feature for me is your logo which I think is quite clever and looks quite nice. I could totally see that logo on a really sexy looking tea selling website. Good luck with it!

Irish Gifts website - looking for feedback for our new design
Hi all, we've just re-launched our website and looking for feedback from the community. I'm interested in people's opinions on how the website works as well as the look and feel. So if you fancy having a look around that'd be nice of you. In particular, is it easy to navigate and find what you are looking for? Does the site layout render OK on your machine/OS/browser? Any suggestions or comments? Here's the site - I hope you like it: http://www.traditionalirishgifts.com (if you do like it please consider clicking the wee likey facebook icon

Critique on Website
Just looking at the home page, all these good things: On page: - good use of text and lots of juicy keywords <-- although it's hard to know for sure what keywords they should be going for without keyword research - meta tags and titles all present and correct: view-source:http://www.grantthornton.co.nz/ - use of heading tags h1 h2 etc - 780 indexed pages Off page - 5000 odd links isn't too bad http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oG7nmxd61PfUAAX_FXNyoA?p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.grantthornton.co.nz%2F&fr2=sb-top&fr=ush-smbizc&type_param= , although could do better on social media. That should give you a start. Although if I were you I'd pick a crap site, there'd be much more to complain about. To me that site's pretty good. I bet it has no probs ranking in NZ I'm trying to get a few people to review a new design for a website I'm working on, the threads here:http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/61244-please-have-a-look-at-my-irish-gift-website-designs/ It's the second link I want ppl to look at, I'd sure be grateful if you'd offer your opinion

Please have a look at my Irish Gift website designs
Hey there, I'm holding a contest to redesign my website http://www.traditionalirishgifts.com I've a bunch of entries in and I'd really like some constructive opinions on what looks best and what works best. I should point out that the designers haven't been completely sticking to the brief and there should be 6 Guinness related categories (and images) plus another 16 Categories (and images) which I'll need to add in when I've chosen the style. I want the site to look like it's been professionally designed and not just some dopey website thrown together by someone in the back office of a dodgy gift store who's attempting to learn some html If possible please put yourself in the position of someone who is looking to buy either some Guinness related merchandise, an Irishy novelty gift or some fancy Aran sweater and please give me your critique of the following. http://www.traditionalirishgifts.com/designcontest.php

Website to Private Gaming server
All the things you want are possible. (I'm assuming there's an API for steam to be able to get the scores and info on users) What you are asking to do isn't too hard if you know how, but since you're asking I'm assuming you don't know which means spending quite a while learning. To answer your questions 1. simple 2. you'll need a database anyway since you've got users. Making a daily schedule is possible but what info does it display and where does the info come from? 3. this through the steam API 4 & 5. I'm not sure how you start community games like this on steam coz I don't use it but bound to all be possible (assuming steam has a developer API) I'd question whether you need to do this yourself anyway, surely someone somewhere has done this already? ps if you get a mo, I'm looking for reviews of a new design I'm working on - I posted in the wrong section d'oh, if you wouldn't mind having a look and giving an honest answer I'd appreciate it http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/57911-opinions-please-design-gurus/

best way to do multipul pages,
Hey there, If you aren't using a database then you could always just hard code it in html. If there's not too many pages and there isn't going to be an increasing amount of pictures and pages then to do this would be easy.

Hidden keywords on my site? Hacked?
Yeah you've probably been hacked. You need to contact your hosts. Also check your ftp account to see if files have been recently changed. Most likely header files or index.php. the second link to the search you provided. If you hover over that link and look where the address points to it includes thebudgetfashionista .com. Why's that there? That site is malware apparently. Good luck, don't panic, should be a case of just deleting whatever rubbish someone has put in there - hopefully you have a backup, your host probably has a backup if not. Then just change your ftp password and shout at your host for this having happened in the first place. hth ps If you get a mo would you mind reviewing my site - I posted in the wrong section - d'oh! http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/57911-opinions-please-design-gurus/

Lates designs for review... tricky topic...
I think you've done well. The site is sober looking but still modern and classy. I don't think there's much I'd change as it is. Although if theres only one option under 'registering the death' then I don't think you need it. Just have 'registering the death' and when you click it, it gives you the option to find out where as well as what you need to do. If I found your site I'd have absolutely no problem using it. It's a pity it's only a jpg though cause I'd like to hoke about but the front page looks great. It will be interesting to see what pictures you come up with to stick in there though. I can't think what I'd put. All I can think of is gravestones and hearses, and I'm not sure if they'd be a good idea or not! Tricky one. Maybe pictures of nature, trees and that? Or old Black & White photos or something. Have you got any ideas yourself? I have a site I'm redesigning but I've posted in the wrong place, would you mind having a look at mine? http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/57911-opinions-please-design-gurus/

New website review please?
Hey there, for an amateur site it looks dead on. But if you are hoping to run it as a business then I think it needs some work. From a design perspective you are competing with loads of other hosts who also offer free hosting, so your site needs to stand out more. I'd go and have a look at the countless other hosting sites out there, my experience is they are all quite similar, basically they have three or so options on the front page, free hosting, home hosting and business hosting. Following the general format will help. People looking for hosting now probably have an idea of what they're expecting to see so it need to be like all the others. From SEO point of view you should limit using text in pictures since search engines can't see the text. There's actully loads you can do in terms of seo but I think you're asking about the design. Would you mind having a look at my site which I'm looking for opinions on... http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/57911-opinions-please-design-gurus/

Web-based application help
I know you could do this with zencart but it seems a little bit like overkill. Assuming you have all the info in a database it would be dead easy to make a site like the one you linked to. I'm assuming you don't know much php/html (apologies if you do), if so then it's probably going to be easier to learn how to do it from scratch than to find some out of the box software and learn how to get rid of all the extra functionality you don't need. Hope that helps ps if it does and you've got a sec, I'm looking for reviews for a project http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/57911-opinions-please-design-gurus/
