  1. I know there is apps for FTP Clients, Domain tools, and some Hosting companies do have there own mobile account log-in apps. Smart phones do have limitations as compared to laptops, ipads etc.
  2. This is a weird thread for me, as I've been thinking about this too, and the exact same spec model. I don't want to get to de-rail the thread into a Mac Vs. PC discussion, so to answer your original question; I think that it's a question you really need to ask yourself. Things that come in to play are the price- can you afford it? The useage- will you use it enough to warrant buying it etc etc.. I personally think it will be a good investment for me (personally)as I already have a desktop PC which is about 8 months old at home, a decent Mactop would give me the best of both worlds plus the real reason behind it for me, is I'm seriously thinking about going back into full time education so a portable device would be ideal. If you've got a friend/collegue who's got one ask if you can have a quick go on it, and get them to show you the interface, to determine whether you still want one.
  3. Thanks for the 3 sources here, very helpful for reference.
  4. To answer the title of this topic I would probably say; Adobe Dreamweaver Adobe Photoshop Adobe InDesign Adobe Fireworks
  5. W7 64 Pro with Kaspersky
  6. This has worked a treat- thanks as always pat24! I have tested in Chrome & Firefox and it's OK. But as always there's issues with IE6. I saw another thread on here about this, so will do some reasearch into fixing that bug. I need to make some changes to match to colours up, but it's almost their. Thanks!
  7. Here's the page - My Spry Menu Screen shot of where I want to place it;
  8. I have created a test page where I am attempting to create my first Spry drop-down Menu. I am using the built in Spry functions in Dreamweaver CS4 to do this. So far I have created the menu, adjusted the colours, fonts and borders and tested in some browsers (it all seems OK) but now I need to re-position the whole menu to fit in the right place on my page. I have tried my best to research how to do this, but it seems that most people only want to re-position the sub menus! As far as I can work out, I think I have to put a div around the HTML code for the spry menu, and link this with the CSS some how. I'm no expert, but I am trying to learn as much as I can- I've just hit a brick wall again. *I will post a link and some screen shots to explain more clearly later today. All help is much appriecated as always. Thanks.

    This one made my ball bag feel like a washing machine
  13. I always use iStock Photo's for sourcing my images, but on the subject matter of 'real people' this can become quite tricky (as can similar topics). I would agree with Lena and say that taking Photographs yourself is a way around this kind of niche for real life images. If your no good with a camera, you could go to a professional photographer who could actually go into your clients work place and take Photo's- you can't get more realistic then that.

  16. Easy mate, welcome aboard.
  17. Thanks UK Web hosting. I have registered to your website, and have looked through the package suggested. It looks pretty good to me. The only thing I'm concered about now, which is a little off the topic but with this package can I host e-shops?
  18. Thank you for the replies. Yes, I do wish for each domain to be presented seperately. So would you both agree that my best option is to go for "reseller Hosting package with Cpanel. With admin WHM panel"?? If so can you point me to some packages that do this specifically?
  19. I have a problem which I'm sure some people may have encountered, but I need to find a solution. I have the 'Home Package' with 1and1.co.uk which includes web hosting, emails, domain etc etc. The problem is the way the 1and1 sets your account up so basically your first domain (In my case visionandimpact.co.uk) will be the default domain so any other domains your purchase will be add-on domains for which you have to redirect these using subfolders. Now this generates the problem where the URL for each of my domains show under my default one in the status bar. So for example; visionandimpact.co.uk [default] craigsmithcreative.co.uk [add on domain] But I want my pages and files from my add on domains to show from their own address. So it should show like this; "www.craigsmithcreative.co.uk/about" rather then my subdirectoy of "www.visionandimpact.co.uk/craigsmithcreative/about" The only piece of useful information I have found is Here But this means i have to swap all my folders and files around, make my own default.asp file and custom error pages and is a long arse way of doing it. So much so I'm thinking of swapping hosts to achieve what I want. Does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts? Thanks in advance!
  20. I would agree with MikeChipShop on this one. I have always used it, but as mentioned above its easy to slip into the routine of using all its shortcuts etc which can take you away from coding a wee bit. Horses for courses.
  21. What did you think of the system on the link I provided?
