Cool thread, nice to get to know people on a more personal level than skills in php or whatever... I had my shoulder/upper arm made with three color japanese flowers, water and clouds, and a Pushead-inspired skull with its eyes popping out... I really love it, and going to start a new one soon hopefully. Still, if I could re-design I'd have less background to leave clear skin between the elements. Makes for more clear and fresh looking tats, I suppose. I don't mean to tell you what to do ofcourse but I'd maybe start with something graphic and smaller than a back piece. Just saying, you will get more experience and see what you really like after you get a few so don't waste too much skin . After a few years I can see how easy I could have f**** my own piece up by picking the wrong artist or going with some of my earlier designs, guess I'm almost lucky... Anyhow, commitment is what tats are about, ofcourse. Or drunken games, I dunno jw
  2. Evu you nailed it, unfortunately this is just one of our compulsory "basic/ basicly nothing" courses so no choice there. I'm studying product design. What are the best tools to learn after html /css? I actually have a book on php somewhere, thats where I "stopped" last time . Are php and Java still relevant, I suppose they are? Thanks for the quick replys. I think on my course, I'll keep an eye on the teacher to see what he does but try to use my time mainly working with code. JV
  3. Hey! Is dreamweaver any good these days, ie worth learning? I've got basic html and css knowledge, but we have a webdesing class where we are using dreamweaver. Should I pay attention or rather go with code and perhaps teach myself java, etc? I'm sort of intrested in learning the best practice, a couple of years ago I got the impression DW wasn't that much of a professional tool but never looked into it... JV
  4. Thanks for the input! Here's a complete rework: LK Freeride re-visited Links should be more obvious, plus I added more color and gave it amore girly feel which were my "clients'" hopes (not in those exact words though). The site got a quite completly new look, what do you like? ps Still no final copy, hope you can cope with it! JV
  5. How to get rid of the annoying re-sizing (width) of a liquid layout when a scrollbar appears in the browser? Happens when not all pages are long "enough" to need it, then shifts bg image and content when the bastard appears. Only solution I came up with so far was to set the page height so that there will always be a scroller but its a stupid solution. Thanks! JV
  6. Hey! Lumikissat Freeride This is a site I designed for a bunch of self-organised freerider girls, as in, it's their groups homepage. It's not launched yet, all copy is still filler, and will eventually be in Finnish anyways so I hope you don't mind! Also the lame facebook-link will be replaced with a blog... Comments on site and logo design as well as code much apreciated! JV
