  1. Looks like you've done most of the work from your codepen. As you've set a background-color on the html you need to remove the background-color from the body tag, this will prevent the white background filling the entire width of the container. Then just add a margin-top to push the container away from the top of the page. Browser inspect tools are your friend :-)
  2. If you are going to have a long site to scroll, maybe a "back to top" hover button that can return you to the top. Much easier than scrolling back through all the content you have just seen.
  3. I like it. Viewed on desktop, there is a slight gap between the bottom two sections(map and footer) looks around 5px which shows the background video. Seems like it shouldn't be there.

Welcome guys. I'm fairly new also.
  5. Thanks all for the feedback guys. I'll have a look at making some changes based on your comments.
  6. All good points. Thanks very much for your time and feedback.
  7. Thank you :-) Yes, I do need to add a portfolio section really.
  8. Yes, good idea! I shall have a look at this.
  9. Thank you. Yes I started from scratch. No nav menu as just wanted to keep this one simple. Good call on the back to top link! I'll have a play with the captcha box. Thank you
  10. Hello all, Thank you in advance. Tell me what you think about the single paged site I have just finished: http://www.thephotofixer.co.uk Looking to improve, so I'll try my best not to take the criticism personally
  11. Lovely part of the Country.
  12. Content is king! Good quality content. You must of heard the phrase "Build it and they shall come..." well the same applies. Build something that people want and you will find natural traffic. The more and more that Google updates its search engine algorithms, the more and more black hat SEO techniques do not work. There are no shortcuts that stand the test of time. Well built and fast sites with great unique content regularly updated will find its way to the top through all of the useless crap.
  13. Portland Bill by any chance? Used to go their as a kid. Is the underground prison still in use there at the top?
  14. Good day to you all from Leicestershire, United Kingdom!
  15. As fisicx said, PHP includes would be the go to answer for me...I think!

I think it's good for businesses, especially if you want to enter your business into Google for reviews and to be found on Google Maps and the like. Not as popular as the other soical medias for sure. But it doesn't hurt to have a page setup with a bit of content on it.
  17. I enjoy listening to Deadmau5 while working. As I there aren't too many lyrics to get distracted by and the repetitive melody puts me in a sort of trance to keep focused.
