I'm buidling a site and at the moment i have the following:

But under the services tab, i want to make it so if you hover over it, a drop down will display tabs called:

Personal Training
Classes
Workshops

How is the best way to do this?

Need to be careful though, as your friend is technically selling an item before it's available. PayPal crack down on things like this.

- mike's idea of a plaster 'sweep' is good - try something with that
 
maybe simpler is better, based on what you had - it needs to work at small sizes, and one or two colours often work better than something too literal or realistic looking

Take your inspiration from what people generally associate with plastering.
Think of the tools used and the procedures followed.
 
Think of the patterns created and the movements used.
The big textured sweep of fresh plaster on a wall is quite graphically intense so try to work that in if you can.

Adding an A Record for the sub-domain beta.domain.com to point to the new host will not in anyway affect the main domain.
 
The only way this will affect the main domain is if the actual nameservers are changed (which is not necessary), or if the A Record of the domain itself is changed.

Don't listen to Black Nova and don't run the server from your home. It's a stupid idea.
 
Not only is £40/month much more than you would need to pay for any hosting if you are starting out, it doesn't include the electricity costs or the fact maintenance and parts is solely your responsibility.
 
What happens if the HardDrive fails in your server? Your website goes offline and you need to go pay £30+ to get it back online.
If the HardDrive hosting my site fails I get moved on over to a different server and don't pay a penny.
 
I also don't have my home internet bandwidth left to the mersey of the amount of people visiting my website. I doubt Virgin would be too happy if your site got Slashdotted (Quick and large spike in traffic) and you inadvertently DDOS your entire neighbourhood.

We tend to disapprove of blatant copyright theft around here.

Most eCommerce platforms will have Payment on Delivery modules. They will also allow her to keep track of stock, do sales and most importantly expand easily. 6 Months down the line when her business explodes and she is selling to America? You want a site that lets you just turn on PayPal/SagePay etc.

I'm currently working on something similar in opencart. easy to take COD payments

The key with questions is to turn them into self promotion. Asking **** like when was the company founded? is just a waste of time.
 
I'm not really sure how you could self promote as an account manager, thats way out of my expertise but they seem to do a lot of different things, so I'd pick on that. I'd ask them what specific area they feel their company excels in, then brown nose them a bit and say its the area you excel in as well. Then I'd ask what services they thought they were weakest at the I'd do some more brown nosing and say how I could help turn them around. Then just the general questions like where they see their company in 12 months, 3 years, 5 years, say how you could help them to achieve that, etc. Ask if there's any new services they're going to provide.
 
If they start asking a lot of personal questions then its sometimes good to ask back, like on interview I was at a few years ago I noticed a sweet M5 in the car park, I looked at it and saw it was in the space of the guy that was interviewing me. I have an M3 so we had a great wee chat about BMW's for 5 mins.

What about using jQuery UI with a date range, I'm guessing sometimes people would want more than 1 days holiday - http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/#date-range

Can anyone help. DOn't want to sound dim but I'm a compelte amateur had a website built by a friend of a friend. He's run off with my moeny after giving me c panel access but there are things I haven't a clue how to change eg some code showing on "treatment" pages and I also want to change the photo on the home page. I have admin access with wysiwig and I am comfortable populating categories and treatments. I bought the domain name from webhosting uk.
 
Don't laugh - will they be hosting this? This guy has told me nothing - given me access but it's in code and I haven't a clue.
 
My question is should I and could I start again, using the same domain name/hosting and try to do it myself with one of the companies out there like webeden?? Or can anyone help me with the problems on the site? Don't really want to spend much mre money.

Last week I took Michael Robson up on his kind offer to build me a new website at a very reasonable price. Today it's gone live!! It's great and he's ended what for me has been 6 months of anger, frustration and stress. So a big public thanks to Michael and everyone else who offered help.

I have had a load of requests over the past year, via PM, to supply my freelance contract...so instead of sending stuff out individually via PM, I've decided to set up a template with explanatory text for anyone to download and adapt to their own circumstances.

This is a contract that I came up with several years ago, with the help of a lawyer [personal friend]. I didn't want anything too technical or full of legal speak. Just wanted something simple, straightforward, that made sense and didn't confuse or intimidate in any way. So there are no major legal terms in the document at all...it simply does what it's meant to - lay out the information that client has supplied [the brief], say what you're going to do for them and how much your going to charge and what deadlines there are...

I guess a simple cms for you to input the job details into the database, then a page that will load the required jobs onto your page.
An email button could be added which will load the ref no into the subject field.
