Hi everyone, I have updated my index page of my Wordpress site and edited the .css to change yellow/orangish box at the top to a uncoloured one I put my slider in. In my IE8, Chrome and Firefox this works fine but on my work IE6 it is still there! Any ideas why? I cant see where it is getting it from (page wrap maybe)! Fantastic, - With regard to: 'submit my articles to blogging sites don't republish on your own site, I'd suggest making a section of your site for "My published articles", create a list of them with summary and link' So when I write some more articles I should put a few on other sites instead of my own (linking back to me)? Best not to duplicate them on different blogging sites? I'm finding it difficult to isolate the keywords to target, is this very much a trial and error process Thank you! Leon

Some more things I have also done: Submitted my site to Google, MSN and Yahoo Created a sitemap.xml file for Google to crawl Set my Wordpress settings for my blog to appear on search engines Write alt tags for my images Get a SEO plugin so I can write meta, and page title bits Sort out Google Analytics so it works Once I know my keywords and integrated them into my site I plan to: Develop the LinkedIn/Facebook/ Twitter page submit my articles to blogging sites link exchanging (good idea?) join business directories online a little bit of ppc get adsense going Thanks, Leon

Hi everyone! Cool, put my first site together: My link Now to do some SEO! I have been reading up and have a list of keywords that I think represent my site. I have put this into the Google keyword tool and picked out some more that were suggested (giving me about 20). Should I only be picking those with lots of searches? Or is there a better tool to use? I have read some bits and it looks like I need broad and specific terms, are there a thresholds I should be using? Hope this makes sense and thank you! Leon

Howdy! Trying to sort out my big yellow box at the top! I am thinking of replacing it with an image slider of the same proportions containing pictures of the articles which are linked to the corresponding article. I hear this jquery magic can help me and have found this. There are a few gallery plugins for Wordpress but I can't seem to get them to work when I paste in the shortcode to my home.php tab. Hi everyone, As usual I am playing around with my Wordpress-based site http://businessbird.co.uk/ On the sidebar I would like to get rid of the top line above 'Useful Links' and maybe change the folder picture to a link sign for this list. This is my understanding so far!!! To make this happen , I need to look at the sidebar.php bit of my site. This is the bit I need to edit: <ul id="navigation"> <?php wp_list_bookmarks( $args ); ?> </ul> The <ul> means unordered list-thats fine! <?php wp_list_bookmarks( $args ); ?> is the Wordpress tag to display links </ul> closes it! To decide if something is a trade or not is defined by the 'badges of trade'. If it is not a trade, then you are in the realm of capital gains- if so it is possible that your gains from eBay could be under your annual allowance £10,100 and therefore no CGT at 18% will be due.
