  1. run > %temp% > Ctrl + A > del You'll probably save around 500mb just from that if you've never done it before.
  2. Most likely did. Got my site indexed on google alot faster, so I'm taking an educated guess it did help.
  3. Thank you. I won't be developing full websites until i at least have gone into University, because up until then i cannot study the correct courses and will most likely spending the majority of my time studying for those. But i understand the importance of having a professional mind-set and appearance, which I'm actually quite used to (due to the fact I'm in a boarding school...). Thank you for your advice on advertising, I'm also considering Adwords or alternatives, so speak now if its a bad thing or for ever hold your peace! Thanks guys! Regards,
  4. Welcome to the forum! Make yourself comfortable, the community is very nice Feel free to PM me if you need help with anything Regards,

  10. +1. Do you mean a HTML script which will search for .pdf formats? As in a domain.com/search.html?r=gibberish.pdf ...? If so, you may want to look into a PHP search, they're more powerful and are more flexible for their outputs.
  11. You're welcome. I always enjoy sharing my lulz with others xD
  12. It was originally designed and constructed in Hong Kong, China. It was announced that the computers which were trialed for the download speeds could not support the data transfer, and the battery literally melted inside the computer. So IMO, stick with your internet now
  13. Hey guys, If you didnt know, my name is Jamie, I'm 16 and excited about going into the business. But i have one question, how in God's name do you get your name out there and become popular? I understand some techniques such as Words of mouth, backlinks etc, but a quick google search showed me that there were >> Results 1 - 10 of about 333,000,000 for web design. (0.32 seconds) and Results 1 - 10 of about 164,000,000 for web development. (0.26 seconds). So i'm quite mystified as to how you could become part of the business. Can anyone enlighten me? Regards,
  14. The only issue which i can tackle is the lack of personality. I can add more colour yes, but the problem with the post icons, which i cant change the settings for. There's literally one picture i can use for each post.. So im considering changing my theme when i get home. Thanks for the review. Regards,
  15. 5 wrong Ah well
  16. Hey guys Would be good if you could review my blog (Link below) and tell me some of the following: - how to improve my Adsense CTR rate - How i install the glider widget and how to make it function etc. - Any other improvements to the site. I'm not asking you to click the ads btw, just before i get comments saying I am xD http://Discuss-bb.org Thanks in advance!
  17. The logo doesn't suit the colour scheme and the Latest News box next to the logo shouldnt be as contrasting as it is. Maybe you should rethinknig the colour scheme to make sure that it is 1. Attractive and 2. Functional. Orange over brown is a good manouver, but you have some titles which have a black heading behind it and some which dont. Such as theLatest News column and the About me (Side by Side). The about me doesnt have a black bgcolor.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you knew how to make a search bar with text in, but when you click inside the box the text disappears? Like on the Google Custom Search bars etc. Thanks in advance! Regards,

To reiterate Sam: Adsense = You register a free account and agree to post pre-created ads from advertisers on your site. For every click (somebody apart from you) on an ad on your site, your adsense account will update your CTR (Click Thru-Rate) and give you an estimated balance of earnings. Adwords = You pay Google to create and post an ad, through google, down the side bar etc, and for every click that ad recieves, you pay a certain amount. The higher your budget, the more pages you ad will be placed on and the more you will pay in consideration. hope this helps. Regards
  20. Precisely what i wanted. Thank you very much.
  21. Thanks, works to some degree. Was hoping that the user would have to click twice, so literally speaking = Page > Clicks button > Popup > then file for download. Instead of Page > clicks button > popup > clicks button > file download... If that makes sense?
  22. Sorry mate, im abit useless and i dont understand :S Could you explain it abit simpler please? Regards,
  23. Sig made me lol slightly, quite a nerdy joke which i love. Merry Christmas everyone, i'll still be on tomorrow, finally getting my PHP and MySQL books for xmas so ill be trying a load of new stuff out xD
  24. Hey guys, quick Q. Creating a small script for downloading, just for experience, and i have this code right now: <title>Download</title> <body> Download Example.rar by clicking the download button.<br /> <input type="button" OnClick="location.href='Example.rar'";" else OnClick="location.href='temp.txt'";" value="Download"> I was wondering if you could combine the OnClick's and create 2 scripts? So, onClick="location.href='google.com';" and then run onClick="location.href='Example.rar';" I've seen this done before on other site, just wondered if it was as simple as on onClick, and how to do it? Regards, EDIT :: Forgot to add, Where onClick="location.href='google.com';", i wanted that was a popup. Forgot to add that in xD
  25. Footer is too big for the actual design, and scrolling a page to the side is a bad point. But all together it's a nice page.
