I don't like the header/logo it doesn't fit with the rest of the theme. The navbar is very hard to read on the non-selected sections! Otherwise its a quite neat design, albeit a bit ordinary.

Thanks mate, I agree about the logo, its just something the client as requested :/

Here is the original, I think it looks more smart, professional and less tacky, what do you reckon?

I also agree with the links need touching up, will look into that now :)

Thanks

Hi,

The second site that you posted seems much more appropriate. I don't like the logo either - it's very hard to read the text, and it's too small.

Maybe your background could incorporate the mixer?

Your design just seems a little flat - could do with some gradients/shadows to lift it a bit. Otherwise it's really nice and tidy...just requires a bit of depth.

the original looks better but i think you need to make the navigation links on it more readable to make it user-friendly...the bacgkround on the navigation links on the first one look rather tacky so i wouldn't go back to using that style...

other than that a cool design

The logo doesn't suit the colour scheme and the Latest News box next to the logo shouldnt be as contrasting as it is.

Maybe you should rethinknig the colour scheme to make sure that it is 1. Attractive and 2. Functional.

Orange over brown is a good manouver, but you have some titles which have a black heading behind it and some which dont.

Such as theLatest News column and the About me (Side by Side). The about me doesnt have a black bgcolor.

I see where the logo is coming from and think it preferable to the picture in the second example.

Perhaps you could use a colour from the logo/header for your accent word colours ie. the orange words.
