Ok, for those of you who dont know, I am currently writing a coffee table web inspiration guide book thingy.

If you are the type who buys web design and dev books, could you please answer the above poll, and also give feedback on the book cover design?

Hey Ben

I don't think B & W would cut it, you'd miss out on all the colour!

For the cover the first thing that sprang to mind was a collage of some sort...

Thanks for feedback guys, cover is above, I forgot to add it

Needs to be in color, absolutely! :D

Great work! I love the cover layout.

Yep - colour for me as well - 'coffee-table' books are there to be drooled over!

One thing (which is to do with the cover like you asked!)...

a coffee table guidebook to crafting beautiful websites and web applications

Now I know I'm picky but you can have a "guide to" or a "guidebook about" but I'm not convinced you can have "guidebook to". You've also got 'guidebook' in the title so, and avoiding a bit of passivity, I'd suggest something like:

"the coffee table guide to crafting beautiful websites and web applications"

or maybe (if there's room):

"the ultimate guide to crafting beautiful websites and web applications for every discerning designer's coffee table"

or something different - making the coffee table just implied from the design (and the marketing blurb you'll have surrounding the book):

"an inspirational guide to the art of crafting beautiful websites and web applications"

(A bit lame - just some quick ideas!) I'm excited to see how this turns-out and next year I may even have a coffee table to put it on! :D

I really don't mean to be rude, but something struck me. You're selling a book about beautiful design (albeit web design), yet you can't design a cover for the book?

The little thumbnails look good, though.

I never said I couldn't design a book cover at all  The above design was created solely by me

I am asking for feedback, a separate thing. If you dont like the design, then please feel free to tell me....

Thanks very much to Wizely and everyone on those suggestions, I will rework that, thanks matey.
