waynede reacted to DigitalSquid in Weird Chrome IssueSeems to be caused by the images you're using as <hr> style separators. If you delete the last 2 of them, the white space disappears. I'm not entirely sure why though, there doesn't seem to be any obvious issues with your code.

waynede got a reaction from kingy da killa in margin:auto not working nor <center>This will solve IE 8
#wrap {min-height: 100%; margin: 0 auto;}
Your #wrap container didn't have the margin so didn't where to position.

waynede got a reaction from Andy Smiff in Andy Smiff | Newer and simpler portfolio siteIts a really nice site, I love the load affect whilst loading to a new page.
Only thing I would do is add the title tags for your site designed and devloped icons so that potential clients using Firefox know what the icons are, I did see in the code you done the alt text though.

waynede got a reaction from mattytwy in Starting up..Hello and welcome to the forum. As stated above I think you will find that photoshop and illustrator are the most commonly used programs for logos and web layouts, although some people will use fireworks for layouts as well.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

waynede got a reaction from mebo in email layout[mebo]yup...using Dreamweaver to hand code - and using Firefox to look at what I'm doing. Could you tell me how to look at this in email settings? as I know a lot can go wrong if I am looking at it in a browser. [/mebo]
In FF select all and copy and paste into outlook, send to hotmail and it should show how it would display as a normal email sent out.
-
waynede got a reaction from mebo in email layoutYou should still be able to use the layout done, just needs to be coded in basic html and all tabled based.

#side{
float: left;
width: 300px;
height: 480px; ******* height: auto; ********
margin: 5px 0 0 5px;
}
Also after the main container end tag you need to add a clear div.
div.clear {

font-size: 0px;
}
<div class="clear"></div>

waynede got a reaction from HTML/CSS Newbie in Protect CSS FileMost web designers wouldn't bother to look at your css file unless you needed help as fellow professionals are doing their own css coding. Also many designers display their code in a set manner with the way it is within the file.
Myself I always comment areas so I know where everything is, with the body at the top, then container, body divs, etc.
