  1. Hey, Another freebie is 'Google Sketchup'. I've used it once or twice for 3D text Slaterx
  2. Andrew, Not sure why you have done this but you have the following line in your "body,td,th" style in your CSS document. body,td,th { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; vertical-align: top; position: relative; z-index: 500; } Remove your 'z-index: 500;', this will push your while website above the pop up images.
  3. You can create a form on a HTML/CSS page and have the information pulled from that form by a mail() script which as you know has to be a PHP form. The way I have insured robots don't get to deep I have put a simple 'Whats 1 + 4?' equation at the start of my script. If the users doesn't enter the correct answer the form will fail
  4. Hey, Thanks for the feedback, I do need to make the text bigger. I know that but thanks again
  5. Hi, Thanks for the quick response 'Aaroniza', I completely forgot about the display:none;, oops! If the content goes over the listed size it will be hidden, but keeping to that I'm building it so it fits in the given spaces. When I final tweek the site I will be checking the site text size, image sizes etc etc. Thanks for the feedback tho
  6. Hi, I am currently re-design/re-building my website for a new look and have spent the last month working on and off on my website doing it in my own time....anyways.... I have almost come to the end of the rebuild, just need to make the content look pretty, I uploaded the new look onto my hosting and quickly took a look at it on my dads laptop (which it running windows, I work on a Mac) and in IE8 it doesn't work properly, well the jquery doesn't when it first loads :'( All the other browsers make it look perfect apart from IE (GRRRRRRR), I am currently putting it through 'browsershots.org' and it looks perfect again apart from IE!!!! Does anyone want to team up with me and bring down IE On a serious note tho has anyone else come across this problem and how did they go around it as I don't fancy doing another re-build :'( The link is HERE! HELP!!!!
  7. Another really good FREE CMS (Content Management System) is this.
  8. Hi Wickham, Thanks for that, I may give that ago if there is no other way. I'm not really familiar with php but ill be more than happy to give it a wizz. Thanks a mill
  9. Nop, In a way....... I'm trying to achieve the #menu_tab background to stay as it is on hover once the user has click on it. Just like the menu is high lighting the div depending on what page your visiting. For example if you where to click on the 'Contact Us' button then once the mouse goes over the button it changes to the black top background and then if the user clicks on 'Contact Us' it will go to the page and the background will stay with the black on the top, at the moment if goes back to its red top border background :'( The current CSS I'm using is below.... #menu_tab { float:right; background:url(../images/menu_repeat_off.gif) center right repeat-x; height:29px; padding:10px 13px 0px 13px; } #menu_tab:hover { background:url(../images/menu_repeat_on.gif) center right repeat-x; } I hope that make sence dude, I'm not the best at discribing/telling things.
  10. Hi, I'm currently coding a website and I have come across something I haven't done before I would like if possible to have the main menu div's to have a red(example) background when the user is currently visiting that website page if that makes sense....hopefully Here is the page I'm currently coding........http://www.stpaulsconnect.com/moorfields/index.html The menu I would like to do this on is the main top one. Is there a CSS way of doing this or jQuery? Thanks for the advice/help in advance Chris
  11. Rich, Thanks for your email, I have taken a look at your website's coding and on line 34 I spotted the following.... <!-- ImageReady Slices (layout2.psd) --> That's your problem right there, It sounded like you exported your website from ether photoshop or imageready. When exporting from these programs they infact build the website in a large multi cols/rows table so when in your case when your adding text it is making one of the sections larger than the image inside it making the whole thing break up There are many posts on this forum with starts creating websites this way, and I'm sorry to say but its the wrong way. Below is a post that might be of some help.... http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/28973-slice-seperation-on-browsers
  12. Hmmm, it's alright. Not the end of the world. You may of already tried this but I would create a 'international Paper' size of 'A4' and create the pages like that individually exporting them as a 'Photoshop PDF'. Then once you have done all the pages then jump onto download.com or macupdate.com depending on what OS your using (Cough 'Mac Rules' Cough) and download a free .pdf combinder and combined the .pdf pages together to make one .pdf. WOW Se how that comes out
  13. Rahhh, ok What Adobe software do you have?
  14. Create it in 'InDesign', this will give you a page layout so you know exactly what your exporting ....sorry if you already know that
  15. Sounds like a long endless .pdf file to me. What are you using to create it?
  16. In an ideal world you should test in the following; " Internet Explorer 6 Internet Explorer 7 Internet Explorer 8 Firefox 2 Firefox 3 Safari 3 Safari 4 Chrome Opera 10 etc etc " Basically all the MAIN browsers..... few usefull/less links below might help...... http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php http://www.webreference.com/stats/browser.html
  17. email it to chris@funkthemedia.com Ill take a little look before i pop down the pub
  18. Another keen learning.....I like. a good website for learning is http://htmldog.com. I have taken your index.html page and have put it through DW, apart from it looking a mess I have noticed that the cause of the website breaking up is that you haven't applied 'border="0". Below is the fixed code, replace your index.html menu code with the below and it should fix the broken website. <tr> <td colspan="5" rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_13.gif" width="55" height="53" alt=""></td> <td colspan="3"> <a href="index.html"><img src="images/index_14.jpg" width="88" height="21" alt="Home" border="0"></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_15.gif" width="31" height="53" alt="" border="0"></td> <td> <a href="contact.html"><img src="images/index_16.jpg" width="130" height="21" alt="Contact" border="0"></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_17.gif" width="31" height="53" alt="" border="0"></td> <td> <a href="portfolio.html"><img src="images/index_18.jpg" width="161" height="21" alt="Portfolio" border="0"></a></td> <td colspan="2" rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_19.gif" width="33" height="53" alt="" border="0"></td> <td colspan="4"> <a href="services.html"><img src="images/index_20.jpg" width="140" height="21" alt="Services" border="0"></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_21.gif" width="28" height="53" alt="" border="0"></td> <td colspan="5"> <a href="links.html"><img src="images/index_22.jpg" width="96" height="21" alt="Links" border="0"></a></td> <td colspan="3" rowspan="2"> <img src="images/index_23.gif" width="54" height="53" alt="" border="0"></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="21" alt="" border="0"></td> </tr>
  19. Hi, Not sound rude but slicing and exporting from Photoshop is the wrong way to make a website. I personally have never used this way and I'm sure other coders/designer will agree with me as Photoshop can use images on your website that don't actually need to be there and doing it yourself will also allow the page to load 100 times faster and easier to edit. You should really be exporting from Photoshop as separate images and building in Dreamweaver from a blank document using HTML/CSS. Doing it this way you will be able to code up websites that are cross browser compatible and HTML valid. Your also be able to make your website better looking and also add special bits and bobs Fun Fun Fun!!!!!
  20. Any chance you can zip your current files up and upload them so i can take a look, cant really give you much advice not looking at anything. Sounds like you have exported this website from a image editing program and adding text into your website is breaking up the structure of the table it exported into......Have you??
  21. I think this is what your looking for.... http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/simplegallery.htm
  22. Hey, What do you mean by accepts messages from mobiles? You mean display newly sent txt's on the homepage or receive them and send them to an email address?
  23. Hi Kerstey, Are you asking about the list of links on the right?? Make sure that the 'a' link is correct and make sure that your page actually where it is meant to be, if all that is fine then try wrapping another div around the menu.
  24. Hi all, I am currently looking at a redesign of my personal website 'www.funkthemedia.com' but I don't know what look I should go for this time around. I have had the current look for about 9/10ish months now and I get bored (Not so much bored, more the fact I think it looks old) to quickly. I like to give it a new look once a year Getting back to the question, what look does everybody think is going to be in for 2010? Will it be, sketchy, shiny, grunge etc etc. What do you think???
