Advise On My Website Please From A Novice

Featured Replies

Hi all I could do with some advise please on my own website that I did for my own use total novice  https://www.drain-unblocking.co.uk/ it does rank quite well in some areas but bigger company's are starting to dominate. I have just started yesterday to get more trust with name address and phone number across the platforms apart from that I not sure please be gentle as I am a total novice cheers.

Hi Chris,

1. Choose a different theme - the one you are using is boooooring.

2. Show me pictures. Create a page (not a post) for each of the different services you offer

3. Get rid of the sidebar - most customers will be looking on the phones for someone to clear their drain

4. Give it a bit of colour

5. Change the blog to set of post about the recent jobs. Put details of the task, location and other pertinent details (like any specialist equipment you have have used).

no mention of the area covered - e.g. what postcodes or radius from Romney do you cover? put it in the header next to the phone number. waste of my time and your time to ring and find out you don't cover e.g. the midlands :)

(Do you cover Tokyo, Japan? - sorry cheap shot.)

It's nice and simple. It could benefit from an image on the front page to identify your main service on offer. A larger photo of you (like you have on a couple of your pages linked from the bottom) will seem more sincere, and help people know who to expect to arrive at their home/workplace.
You seem to be focusing on SEO well enough - judging by the layout, titles, blog headings, etc., this post.

I'm not really into Social Media (as much as I should be), yet you too could maybe benefit from replacing the bottom text links, and having them higher up as social media buttons.

I would hire you. The fact that you say that you enjoy the work, shows to me the dedication and pride that comes with having a passion - in any trade or field.

Good luck. I hope you reply to this thread. So many spammers leave just a single post, in their quest for SEO perfection, and never return.

It is very simple, the pagespeed is fine but for my opinion the theme is not catchy.

Invest more time in designing, download a better theme.

If you want to keep your blog page as main page I would suggest you to add more tools in your home page like a slider.

Of course just my opinion,

hope this help :)
