its a catalogue i want to make smaller, let say i ahve 25 products inside and i wnat show 5 only. i have the pdf file in separate page for printing.

pay the designer to make it so? you can do edits up to a point using acrobat pro but it's really only intended for minor edits not major layout  changes 

copy of the pdf might also be helpful and explain more how it will be distributed - printed or online?

they do - but this was rearranging pages in a 26 page or so pdf (brochure) - unfortunately, each double page spread was made as a single page (e.g.'pages' 2 and 3 were simply made as page 2, not a spread with page 2+3 ) so i couldn't simply delete the pages i didn't want because i had to cut the artwork in half.

imported the pdf pages into Indesign i wanted to appear in the final document (after a couple of text edits in acrobat pro) and cropped the halves i didn't need with the graphics frame before exporting as pdf from there  

have used scribus a couple of times and it's pretty ok though i'm so used to indesign now (creative cloud at work/home)
