November 16, 20169 yr Hello Guys, Wonder if you can offer some advice. I have a theme for an energy website. I am trying to make a company blog. This theme was purchased to save some time and as a project to learn as I work kind thing. I've ran into a brick wall. I want to use a blog with the website, It looks like the theme creator has added this as part of the template. Due to my lack of experience I have no idea where to start. Can you kindly have a look at the link and give me some pointers are what I need to do? Only way I can think of doing it would to be either: Add all the page as static HTML and customise each entry on the blog page (hell this would be long winded) Or; Install wordpress as a backend CMS in a sub directory - How would I keep the theme design if this was the case? Any help would be great. you can find the blog grid at http://www.poweredbysolutions.co.uk/blog-grid.html and the post template : http://www.poweredbysolutions.co.uk/blog-detail.html Thank you.
November 16, 20169 yr Does the theme connect to a database or is it a static website theme? If it's the latter then you only real option is to do it all manually. Or you bite the bullet and install a CMS (like wordpress) and use one of their themes. But I'd avoid anything bootstrap as they tend not to work too well on phone (their ideas of responsive aren't good). As an aside, there are a whole load of UX issue with the theme you have chosen, but you didn't ask for a review...
November 16, 20169 yr It's years since I did it but this was the technique. To feed a blog into your otherwise static website: Open a blog on blogger.com google's feedburner wil make an rss feed from your blogger blog Then use buzzboost also from google to convert the feed to html that goes directly into your page So as you blog on blogger your blog posts on your site will be updated automatically. It was easy to do. Don't know how it would handle featured images for your listed latest posts with an image and an extract. Presume buzzboost and feedburner are still functioning. Suspect you would find some limitations with how you can display stuff on your site. The good thing is if a non-pro is blogging, blogger is super user friendly. TW
January 4, 20179 yr I am not getting your question fully but whatever I understood that I suggest you as solution. If your site contain static information then you can do it easily with editing this page you have shared. You have edit this page using Notepad, add your blog contain and save it. Republish your website. But if you are finding the dynamic blog solution for your blog page then you have to use any CMS. I think better was first you consult your theme developer. What is he says about this problem, Then go for some solution.
