Hello all,

 

I was just wondering. I've designed my site using HTML5 and CSS3 and I've checked both google and bing web master tools and they both state my mark up has no faults, but I was wondering how to keep maintain my SEO in order for both google and bing keep ranking my site.

 

Are there any free SEO tools that I can use to maintain this ranking or does google and bing automatically maintain my rank? I'm new to SEO so if there aren't any free tools aout there how can I utilize google and bing to their best advantage?

Personally, I think that Screaming Frog is quite a useful tool. You can check the health of your website using that tool quite quickly.

I would recommend Screaming Frog as well. It works pretty well.

There are many techniques that you can use in SEO. The best is Blog Posting with unique content. This will generate traffic for your website. and also do link building task so as to create back links. for your website.

There are a few interesting strategies when it comes to SEO.

As above blogs to generate traffic that also ticks the box in the google algorithm for fresh content but this alone is not enough to see good positive movement up the google ladder.

 

Think about how you search do you go to a blog or do you go to Google? Or Bing? Or Yahoo?

 

These search engines still rely heavily on backlinks, yes we all hear about content is king but it's a holistic approach these days and backlinks are still king!

 

Now you need to be careful with the penguin 4.0 update which will penalise your site for bad or corrupt backlinks.

Basically it's best practice to match the matrix from different tools. The reason why i move myself from free to paid tools is the KW analysis. As you know ranking a keyword requires deep keyword analysis so when i used to play around with free tools i get stucked b/w the difference of Keyword competition among different tools.

You can use a any of the free tools that members have mentioned but there are other good tools that tough you pay, they are worth. TINY RANKER for example gives you a 30 days free trial. So if you are a newbie, then this can help you.
