Slider Images Not Showing Up on Mobile Devices

Featured Replies

We have two sliders on our website--one on the main page (http://www.cloud29cab.com) and a gallery slider at http://www.cloud29cab.com/about/taxis.html.
They show up fine on desktop computers but not at all on mobile devices
(the gallery thumbnails on the Taxis page are displaying but not the
big images). I have tried a number of things to get the slider images to
display, with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately I don't have time to start over with a totally different slider. At least not right now. I already wasted a lot of time trying to get one "responsive slider" to work and it never did. I assume the reason it didn't work is that it was probably intended for websites that are responsive and ours isn't.

I did look at some of the sliders at your link and out of the ones I looked at, only one (jssor) is free for commercial use. Unfortunately jssor doesn't seem to work with Android devices using browsers other than IE Mobile (userAgents limited to Apple and Blackberry devices plus IEMobile). Unless userAgent IE Mobile somehow serves as a stand in for all mobile browsers? Unfortunately I know next to nothing about designing websites for mobile devices.

Since I can't get the slider images to show up, I've been trying to replace the slider on the main page with a single image when viewed on mobile devices (to get rid off the huge blank space on the page) but that isn't working either. Here's what I did:

Placed the image under the closing slider DIV in the HTML:

<img src="#" class="mobile-image">

Added code to hide the image in CSS:

.mobile-image {
    display: none;
}

Used CSS media queries to hide the slider and show the image on mobile devices:

@media only screen
and (min-device-width : 320px)
and (max-device-width : 767px) {

    .slider {
        display: none;
    }
    .mobile-image {
        display: block;
    }
}

What am I doing wrong?

If you know ur site is not responsive!

then first think of making the whole site responsive..and u can just turn off the slider in mobile devices using media queries
