Custom profile slider site

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need to build a Wordpress site with the following requirements but could do with a bit of input from you guys:

1: The site needs to be a subscription site to charge monthly or annual membership fees to subscribers.

2: Each subscriber needs to be able to create a custom profile page including text, images, event dates and either YouTube videos or Soundcloud clips. They will also need to be able to log in and edit this themselves.

3: I need the profile to appear on a slider to give a Tinder-like effect where users can swipe past the current page to the next.

4: The slider needs to auto update with any new subscribers or edited profiles going to the start.

I've looked at setting up a custom post type and using ACF but struggling a bit with integrating the custom fields into a slider as well as picking the right membership plug-in that will enable the user to edit their own profile page only.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Gareth.

Custom Code.

It's going to be very difficult to do what you want with existing themes and plugins. Especially the bit where they create their own content. You don't really want them messing about in the dashboard, Ideally they would do everything from the front end. Get a bespoke solution coded. Far safer and it means you won't be relying on a mass of third party plugins

The swiping thing will definitely need custom code.

Hi Fisicx.

Thanks for the input.

If need be, I can probably forgo the slide effect initially so this would reduce the requirements to a membership plug-in that allows a profile page to be created/amended and a custom post slider that shows the most recently created or amended profiles first.

If anyone has any ideas for doing this, that would be fantastic.

May be worth mentioning that I also have some (not much...) experience with Magento and Shopify so not ure if either of these would be a better option than Wordpress.

Cheers!
