You haven't seen the templates then, they're a minefield! There's also some issues with server resource usage so at least a VPS is recommended - they will probably fix this over time though.
June 5, 200818 yr I'm pretty sure Magento is just an upgrade from another named cart system-I just can't think what.. I swear by Cubecart-it's so easy to customise both the front and backend.
July 6, 200818 yr Personally I like osCommerce - there are a ton of templates, and as it's open source, you can change the code as much as you like! There are a lot of variations - osCommerce is the most basic form, while creLoaded and zenCart have a lot of useful contributions already added.
