Im looking to get some adobe software and i was wondering what all of you used. On my PC i have flash and fireworks, but im considering getting more for my mac.

I was given a copy of Creative Suite 3 (totally legit!) But I'm glad I didn't pay for it, because I only use Photoshop and Illustrator (It would have set me back about two and a half grand!!!!!) I sometimes use dreamweaver, but only cos it finishes my tags off for me

I am thinking of getting web standard for 300 and also buying photoshop.

I have Photoshop and Illustrator both of which I use very often, and I have InDesign which I don't use as much anymore since I don't do much print design anymore. I also have Dreamweaver which occasionally gets used and Flash which hasn't been used for over 2 years now! I also was given Corel Painter but again I hardly use it.

I'm proud to say I don't use any Adobe products

 

Unless you have a big budget there are many alternatives...

Having learned photoshop during my education it's hard to start with something else. I'm all familiar with the shortcuts but i might need to look for alternatives when i finish my education and can't use the educational version anymore . Prices of photoshop are rediculous .

As for coding, i learned to use dreamweaver aswell, but it's a little bit of a heave program for simple coding. So i switched to notepad++.

 

If i'd buy anything from Adobe it would probably be Photoshop, and maybe flash. Don't do a lot in flash but they have monopoly on that, theres really no alternative to flash. Would really love to learn illustrator well but it's pretty damn hard

Check out Coda if you're on a mac. I love it (a dreamweaver alternative). Photoshop is pretty much the only real option for designing (mabe corel at a push).

Have you tried textmate? I used coda for a bit as well as Dreamweaver but like the way I can switch between PHP / CSS / CHTML / etc etc in Textmate. Once you scratch the surface it is a seriously good little program.Transmit for FTP is really good also ($30).

well the Adobe products is a good choice, but definitely worth it if you're serious about what you work on. Essentials I would recommend are Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver. If you're doing any print work, then make sure you have InDesign, Adobe acrobat Pro is also worth having.
