I have a website whose main purpose is to provide custom e-mail addresses. I have, however, incorporated a website services section which I'm currently developing. Naturally I've included my own web design site, but as I have enough projects to keep me busy for several months (with more in the pipeline), I'd like to invite the talented among you to promote your services by means of a 2 or 3-line description with a link to your site.

In return, all I'm asking for is a high-quality reciprocal link, along the lines of "Don't yet want a website but need a new email address for your business?" in a good location (south-facing would be nice). If your site has a Google ranking of 3 or higher so much the better, but the most important factor is skill - after all, your services are being recommended. Web design, logo design, SEO, e-commerce – anything web-related is welcome; please respond either via this thread or by PM if you want to participate.

I would also welcome feedback on my site – any suggestions regards design and/or content would be appreciated.

What did I say?!!

I thought this was such a good idea but I haven't had a single response.

Did I do something wrong? :pardon:

You're very welcome to join, Marshal. Your site is looking good - just drop me a line via personal message when it's finished and we'll go from there. Can I suggest that you run a spell check throughout your site... at the moment there are quite a few spelling errors. You also need to test your site in IE6, where the right column isn't displaying correctly. If you don't have IE6 installed this might be useful to you: http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage.

Hi Marie. I think your website looks absolutely fantastic.

I'm just starting out in business on my own after being made redundant whilst on maternity leave, having previously worked in IT systems admin. I'm quite creative and I have web analytics skills so I thought of putting together a consultancy business offering analytics, basic web design and SEO. I'm really getting into the SEO thing and obviously I want to get my site promoted.

The site Everything Clicks! is still in basic draft with very little content so far, but I'd love to "reciprocally link" with you once it's complete if you feel we have a relevant connection.

Hi Marie

I've added a link to your website on my affiliates page Everything-Clicks. If you'd like me to add any more text please let me know.

I really do love your site (especially the graphics!) but the only thing I think lets it down slightly is the big red/black button on the address finder. Just thought I'd mention it as you asked for reviews

Thanks

That's perfect - thanks, Ann.

I've added your link, let me know if you want any of the text changed. My StatCounter tells me that quite a few people are exiting via Ashley's link, so you should get a few hits.

My site is getting quite a lot of visitors - it comes out top in Yahoo for lots of relevant key phrases, but not so well in Google where it ranks 2/10. I'll be working on this and I'm hoping that this reciprocal link scheme will help, but any suggestions would be very welcome.

I totally agree with you about the button! Fact is, I'm getting more clicks on that particular page now that there's a big fat button instead of a text link. I'll make it smaller though, and perhaps a bit more stylish - it was done in a rush.

:hi: here's what i don't get. You say that your clients need a domain and hosting. Then you'll setup email for them. I'm confused. If they get hosting and a domain then can't they just setup a email address for it and not setup a website? I guess I just don't get your business model. 8)

Spot on, Seth. Well, nearly...

If it's unclear to you then there's evidently something amiss, which would explain why I'm getting very few orders.

I think I've been to wordy... basically I'm trying to explain that I can register domain names and provide e-mail hosting, which they can set up from a control panel. At a later stage, they can upgrade their email hosting account to a web-hosting account if they want to publish a web site.

Clear as mud?!

I need a copy-writer, don't I...

Marie

oh so you're hosting the domains on your servers? i get it now. 8) Talk to Wisely he's a good writer

  • Author

Yup, you got it.

Would you believe I've just been on the phone to a copy writer: http://www.billhilton.biz

He's going to look over the site and call me next Wednesday.

If it comes to nothing (or he turns out to be unaffordable), I'd like directions to Wisely, please...

Thanks for your input, Seth.
