  1. Would really appreciate it if someone could offer even a small clue as to what I am missing here. Thanks John
  2. Hello! I've not posted on here for seemingly years but I have a random problem that I am struggling with and I am hoping some kind soul can point me in the right direction! Well, I am settign up a one page site for someone and I want to have the navigation and image in the left side always remain in the top left as a floating sidebar when the site scrolls down. I also want the site to be responsive. I have set up positioning as relative and absolute and the image is sized at 100% width to stay within the #left hand side. However when scrolling down the image reverts to it's original full size. Do anyone know of a fix to get around this? I would be much appreciative of any pointers please. Here is the site: http://www.daycaredoncaster.co.uk/test/ and the css: http://www.daycaredoncaster.co.uk/test/style.css Thanking you in advance John
  3. Does anybody else have any ideas? Many thanks John
  4. Hi KieranA I've not used IIS before. I have PHP enabled on the site. Would Ibe able to have some PHP script to do the job? And if so how would I code it? It is probably very simple but I haven't done it before. Thanks John
  5. Hi BlueDreamer, yes I have.

Hi all I've got a page on a website that if visited under http://www.example.com or example.com needs to redirect to https://www.example.com The website is on a Windows server and not Linux so I can't use .htaccess I am trying to use the Meta Tag redirect method but this won't work as the page keeps refreshing and as there is a form to fill in on the page that is no good. The meta tag I have tried using is: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;url=https://www.example.com"> Do I need to doctor the Meta Tag in order for it to work or is there another method I should use and if so which, and how do I implement it? Many thanks John
  7. I see Google have again updated their text regarding swapping links? Does anyone still do reciprocal linking. I have heard it can be upto 90% less effective than say 3-way linking or just relevant backlinks without the No Follow ref! I personally use a bit of both but I am becoming more and more put off with reciprocal linking by reading articles lik this on it! What are your thoughts?
  8. FC City of Lincoln is me! It's annoying we can't look at other team's players until after the first games!

Now then. I'm a Lincoln City fan so it's good to see there's someone else who supports football the lower divisions. I've been to Brisbane Road (or The Matchroom Stadium) quite a number of times. We've lost most of the time though! You signed Adrian Patulea from us a month ago. He became a legend within the first few months playing for us but fell out of favour with the management even though he was our leading scorer!
  10. Quite pleased with how things have gone! I'm in second with JD's Imps! As you can imagine being a Lincoln City fan I need something different to take my mind off the real game!!
  11. Took me a while to find this thread. Was wondering if everyone's teams had lived up to their expectations?
  12. Cheers for the replies guys. I will continue to do a bit more research into the subject. Cheers John
  13. Hi all I haven't been on here for about 10 months but it feels good to be back! I see quite a lot of the regulars are still on here from when I first started coming on here a year ago! I am not sure if this is the right forum to be asking the following question, but here goes... Anyway, I have been asked to design a website using a CMS. I'm thinking of using Joomla. The site will have quite a few administrators. I've been asked about protecting the site gainst hackers. Is there anything I should know about securing the site against hackers or is it something that the web hosting company has resposibility for? Many thanks John
  14. Hi all I've got a problem that is causing me to pull my hair out and it is starting to hurt!! Basically, I have a client who wanted to get rid of their ebay shop and replace it with a custom made ebay shop using HTML. I have done the design but now I am having a few issues with the ebay functionality. The main list of items (which is constantly updated using Ebay's functionality runs on to 5 pages. The first page is fine, using the new page design but clicking onto the second page of this list, the page design will default to the old ebay style, but the list will be ok. I have phoned Ebay, got no answers and have looked on Ebay related forums finding no answers. This is my last port of call before my final 6 hairs are pulled out of my head!! Does anyone have a solution or know of a weblink that would help. Many many thanks!!
  15. Cheers Ben Off to the pub for half twelve to watch West Brom get stuffed then onto Sincil Bank to hopefully see our first win this season! Good luck to all!
  16. I know what you mean Ben. I love this time of year. I went to The Don Valley Stadium (athletics track) last Saturday to see Rotherham beat Lincoln but I was still happy that the season has started again! I'm doing a League 2 fantasy team with the Daily Telegraph too - now that is hard work!!
  17. I've just joined up folks. Should be a good bit of fun this. My team is JD's Imps (cause I'm a Lincoln City fan!!!)
  18. Hi Just been scouring the web as work is very quiet and found a great article on SEO. I'm not sure how much of it would work but it is very informative and a great read! Here What are your thoughts?
  19. It should be illegal for football fans to support a football team other than the city/town closest to them with a team. Man U and Liverpool fans take note

I've got a game similar to this on my Nokia N95 called Bejeweled - highly addictive. This is a day lost for me on the work front now!!
  21. Haha, good research my friend!
  22. Well, I have a customer who would like viistors to his site to be able to fill out a contact form and send to email, but he wants this contact form page to display only on the mobile phone. Do I need to do anything special to the form as it will be used only on the mobile? I would like to use HTML coding and a PHP script if possible. Also, how would I enable people to search for this page on a mobile phone but not be able to find that page on a PC? Any answers would be very appreciated. Many thanks John
  23. Ok, cheers for this Pat John :-)
  24. Even just a pointer at what I may have done wrong. Would be highly appreciated! Is for an urgent job. Please help! John
