Hi, Looking for advice and help...

Hi

Nice site, plus i heard this was the place to come for advice and friendly people ...

I thought it would be a good idea to join this forum to help me advance myself in my career and training.

I have done well up to now, and i am hungry for more, I feel I am ready to move on to maybe Web project manager role or something along those lines or maybe even run my own business, I would prefer management though.

Currently working in a company not a design agency, I am just managing and upgrading the company's website where i am the only Web developer/designer I create everything from scratch constantly working with Oracle, PHP and MYSQL, But i feel a bit stuck in this company as i don't feel they fully appreciate what i am doing and as such get poorly paid, I did have a pay rise but not the going market rate I feel.

I specialise in e-commerce I know quite abit e-commerce as i have created many of them and also learned about all sides of ecommerce from design through to development.

What i am really after is advice on what i need to learn to progress into a Web managerial role? I have been looking on job boards site and i feel like i can do it, but no one is giving me a chance to prove it!

Oh i have degree in Interactive Media management from Portsmouth Uni but i don't think that counts for much to be honest.

So any advice if i should do a Manager type course or what i can do to show my skills?
