Please take a look at this basic logo. Do you think this is clear enough for the product ? If not what do you think needs changing?

Still not sure. I think it's because the legs are not inline with the text and the eye is... It might just be me though so it's best to get a second opinion also?

 

Have you tried putting an M next to it and just having the monster in the middle?

It would make sense if it were a little more inline with the rest of the text...although it doesn't look great, something like this:

 

I like both revisions. Perhaps you could add a bit of clothing to the monster. Nothing ambitious - something like a skirt, socks - anything you can bend around the character. It's a nice logo though - really nice

Imho, first version works fine. I mean, even if it's not a "M", our brain recognize it as if it were. I read an article talking about brain's capacity of reading and understanding words even if written wrong or with missing letters. Furthermore, children make mistakes with their first attempts to write

Somehow, it reminds me the movie Monsters&co; I'd just detail it a bit more. Also making it look not right in front of it would give its expression more personality.

What I don't like is the font, and text in general.

I instantly 'recognised' the word monster, aren't brains clever?

Also, that's a nice piece of illustration - quirky and works.

 

Perhaps a compromise of the monster not quite as low, but also not quite as high as Andy's example.

i think the idea of putting some clothes on will work, might add a tshirt with the logo on

i have created a second logo - i want to have three or four brightly colored ones - what do you think ?

Not a constructive criticism, but I prefer the purple one out of the two. Are you having 3/4 designs for your client to choose from or 3/4 varieties to complement each other? If the latter, maybe you could change the shapes. They don't necessarily have to be in the mould of 'M'.

Purple for me too, not sure I like it on black either.

It wasn't supposed to be on black I saved the document wrong oops !!! it is a Friday - I was going to have 3/4 different variations as these are to be printed on clothing for advertising purposes.

Not sure if I've misunderstood your last comment, so apologies if this is irrelevant. Having a variety of designs sounds like a good idea. The purple logo could be your main focus - the monster, let's call him Jeff (no reason) steps in as an 'M'. When you're using the other monsters (regardless of their name and colour) you could experiment with their shapes and stick the 'M' on the side of their heads - as per design #3. It's a bit playful and adds variety (need to use another word other than variety!) to a kids clothing brand.

 

Yes, it's Friday so have fun with it. Sharpen that pencil and sketch up some ideas topped off with a beverage of your choice

I like your first version. The eye is really cool. And the eye alone could be used small versions of the logo on price tags, favicons etc.

I don't think it's that important if it resembles an "m" or not. The important thing is if it catches your attention and clearly represents the brand. A little brain puzzle activity ala "Ah I see it's an M" might actually help to store this logo in the consumers mind.

I like the new orange logo the most. Second for me is the purple one. I don't really like the red one.

Yep - liking the orange one too. I think NillerVision made a good point about not focusing too much on replacing the letters with the monster. As long as the brand is identifiable still, it reaches the point. I don't need to tell you about colour representations or anything, but the orange works great for this product. Still with the mindset of using one monster as the 'main' logo, with the others to complement it. Whether you choose purple, red or orange for the main is up to you, but overall, it looks like you are building up a nice little brand

Looking back at the previous posts I think the purple monsters legs look a bit like fingers (Just me?)

Love the new round orange version it's a lot more 'fun' for children's clothing and I think it would look great in other colours!

I like the logo which you share here. It looking very nice and color is also very nice. I think there is no need more changes in it. It's looking perfect and professional logo.
