Google plus

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen the benefits from creating a Google plus account.

As another social media tool out there, with the muscle of google behind it, has anyone benefited from this?

Is it worth the hassle of adding the google plus 1 button across the website?

Yes I would say it is definitely worth adding to the site and is not really that difficult to do. I don't think Google+ has taken off quite as expected in the beginning but does seem to be gaining more momentum now IMO

From an SEO point of view, it's a powerful tool. Creating authorship links between your account and your website, you'll see some great results in the SERPs. Plus there's great SEO value. I mean, how else were Google going to fill the place ;)

I can quickly get discouraged from registering with a website for the smallest reason. In this case it's Google+.

Although I see it to be another benefit towards the improvement of your website on SEO etc, if I were to register right now it would firstly be for just personal use. I've chosen not to use it because every time I accidentally click one of the +1 buttons or get redirected to their registration page, Google uses all the information they already have of me including my Gmail to fill in everything. One click by accident and i've got an account, I'd rather fill in the form myself and not feel like they're waiting for me to slip up and press one too many buttons.

This is all because once you've got an account it's not going anywhere. Including Facebook allowing you to suspend yourself but not delete.

Sorry just a little rant, lol.

In error (don't ask!), I completed the Google+ details to upgrade a personal account. To be honest, I had no use of it and didn't really notice Google+ so much as an online presence. It irritates me when Google uses information as an autocomplete (if I understand JordanC's above post) and fills the rest of a form in. There surely is somewhere where you can protect your privacy though? (he says naiively...).

My issue with Google (but my fault) is that you are logged into all their products at one time. It isn't until later I realise when I'm getting recommendations for kids shows or 'horrific' (ha ha!) pop music while looking at YouTube with my daughter. All because I was still logged into Gmail or Analytics. Thankfully, it's a personal account ;)

I only use Google+ for personal ventures at this stage but I rate Jason Dexter's opinion, so I'll be looking into it as an SEO tool when I get the chance.

Google Plus is a best way to promote your business online. Nowdays, google plus is used to review your business and get more popularity.

I haven't seen anything amazing from Google Plus on its own.

But like a lot of things, everything helps in small amounts.

Google Plus could be a grower, so it doesn't hurt to set it up and start spamming some related G+ communities with your good content.

Google plus definitely increase the authorship to my website.Helps in branding my website by checking on the reviews.Brings in traffic to my website. However it does nto have any impact on the keywords serps

Google+ is basically another social media. Because it is developed by Google, people hope it to have SEO benefit. Not sure how much SEO benefits right know, as link from Google + is nofollow.

I've been using it for a while and here's what I found:

  • Posts are included in google searches
  • authorship puts your face/bio to the world
  • stronger SEO

What I hate about it is the communities. It's full of people posting for their own good. Some share useful content but I hardly see any engagement. I think it's too early to really see major benefits from it. I did in one phase get a lot of my traffic from there, but it was just traffic.
