I agree, I used to work with a guy who used to say "scone". Oh how we laughed.

I was just in a Cafe, the person behind the counter clearly said 'scone'. I'm not 100% sure but nobody raised any objection, or any sign of unhappiness with the way she said it.

It's "Scone" if you must know.
