Hi,

 

It's a nice simple layout. Personally I would have a look at adding a border to the left of the main content. It might just be me, but imho I think it would nicer with one.

 

Your CSS validates, which is good. However, your HTML doesn't, with 82 errors. I would recommend sorting this out.

This site lists some of the more common XHTML validation errors, and how to fix them.

Your site layout is ok. Your site just looks a bit old.

 

Try adding some subtle shading / gradients.

 

Half your text is centered and half of it is not, try sticking to 1 thing preferbly align left.

I must say I don't understand why you are asking for a review of this website, are you trying to find out if other people think it is good enough? My husband (notbansky) did this site for you for nothing, I realise it helped his portfolio too, but I was around at the time and I know he worked hard on it, so I find your requests of critiques to the members of this forum bordering on rude. Particularly as he is a very active member of this forum.

 

As for your question'How do I sort that out?' He asked you at the time if you knew how to update HTML files and you said you did, the fact that it isn't working could have been sorted out ages ago if you had admitted to not knowing how to update the file, or you could have asked him now.

 

Maybe you could have asked my husband if it was ok to ask for a critique? That would have been a little more polite. Notbanksy is out at the moment and hasn't seen your post, but I know he won't feel great when he sees it.

If you were happy with what notbansky did why would you need a review? Are you planning on changing the site after someone took the time to create one for you?

There is nothing wrong with asking for a review of a site, I was just wondering why he would want a review of something he didn't design, so wanted to know if he was planning on changing it....which he still hasn't answered by the way.

 

 

As for a review, the design is fine. A couple of pixelated corners on rounded bits but other then that it is good.

 

 

The code is now a mess and that should be seen to asap, as a lot of those errors can be easily fixed if you work through what they say they are on the w3c validation bit. *on a side note I know that notbansky codes to a high standard as seen in his other work*

I'm just a bit confused too and naturally defensive of notbanksy because he's been a great help to me and his advice is always welcome, useful and freely given.

 

Just wondering if it wouldn't be better for the web design partner you're advertising for to review this site for you?

 

It seems like notbanksy will have generously done work for you for free, then people will give advice and spend time helping you here and then you'll be getting a design partner to look at it again?

 

Right that's enough I am closing this thread until further notice...this has not much to do with wizely post being the last, its just this isn't really generating reviews just arguments about the reasons behind asking for this review.
