Wordpress site migration

Hi,

 

I've completed a Wordpress site and we're ready to go live. It's currently located in a subfolder called "newsite" on the server but I need to move it to the root directory.

 

I just want to double check that I don't have to change any of the image urls etc in the database so they are relevant to the new location.

 

Also, I need to back up the current site in case we have to revert to it for any reason. Is it just a case of dragging all the current files in to a directory called "old site backup" or something?
