Hi all,

 

Someone asked me how to make their site show up in Google like the attached image. Different pages showing up in list form. The website in the attached image is a site I had done over a year ago (static website). I recently finished an ecommerce site (using a theme), and when searched in Google, shows up different than the attached image. Any ideas?

its a shame there isnt any incorporated webmaster with this service.

 

its not very informative on how to do this correctly apart from suggesting related content that works with there algorithms.

do know links that would have useful hints to do this correctly.. i mean carting with there algorithms?

I should visit this section more often, I miss out on sticking my oar in.

 

Basically, because what has been searched on the brand (or whatever the domain is). Now to do this, you have to target your brand in your SEO campaign.. So when your capturing those juicy links for your keywords, involve your brand name.

 

You'll only get sitelinks appear when someone searches your brand. Try it out with Nike and Fred Perry etc

 

Google loves brands. So target that with your backlinking etc

Thanks for the info mate. I haven't posted here in a while, or even visited WDF, I see it's changed since I was here last. I'm sure I will have many more questions for you soon. At the moment, I'm just sorting out WAMP (well trying to). Need to get a site going on that to try out a few things that hopefully won't mess up the live site.

Atleast it all made sense to you haha.

 

The general rule of thumb is to have atleast 40% of your backlinks anchor text to contain your brand name as well. But higher the better.

 

EDIT: How many times can I fit the word brand in, on my previous post!? lol

Just to chip in a few extra items I've found to also help:

• Register your site with Google WMT (this allows you to manage the links when they appear)
  
• Generate a sitemap, submit to WMT
  
• Main navigation elements on site ideally HTML (using UL, LI)
  
• Thorough Internal linking structure reaching the pages you want to appear
  
• Build backllinks to the the pages you want to appear (mix anchor text)

Well those are the sitelinks and in order to get those site links the prerequisite is that you should be in the top position of SERP. Secondly, your webdesign and content architecture should be well constructed and you should do optimal link building for the links which you want to appear (as mentioned by jason). Google also chooses websites which have high PR and domains which are old. So a whole bunch of factors play an important role in determining if your sitelinks would be displayed.
